Love that they are GF and GF fryer. Staff are somewhat knowledgeable but more concerned with turning tables and the bar part of the business. We like the one in Tacoma a bit more because the staff seem more knowledgeable and considerate when you are talking to them.
Overall though the food is good, never have gotten sick.
Came for Taco Tuesday. When the chips were brought out I mentioned celiac disease and before I could ask the server told me they were prepared in a dedicated fryer. She made a note on my taco order for the kitchen and assured me they would be prepared on a clean surface. Can’t speak on cross contamination since I’m not symptomatic but I felt like my server was very knowledgable and they had plenty of options for me using corn products. So much so that the menu instead marks what food items contain gluten instead of which are gluten free. They also have a couple vegan taco options. They have the GF grapefruit IPA from Ghostfish but my favorite are the margarita slushies. Good happy hour and Taco Tuesday deals. 21+ only, will check IDs at the door.
Ordered gluten free burrito. Received my food and asked again if burrito was a corn tortilla. They said yes, but would double check . Came back apologizing that it was a flour tortilla. Apparently they ran of corn tortillas. I learned they do not have a separate area to prep food. Never clear on how the cook thought it was ok to prepare a gf burrito with a four tortilla.
Not celiac friendly. Our server was very rude when we politely asked about our gluten free options. The corn tortillas share a grill with the flour tortillas. And they make the flour tortillas in house so the server told us (very rudely) that flour flies everywhere so there’s nothing safe.
Oh man. So good!! Went here for lunch today. Staff is super knowledgeable. I had the taco plate which came with 2 tacos, beans, and rice. You got to pick from some very yummy tacos. I had carne asada and the carnitas tacos. I'm still drooling. Tacos were great size and definitely filled me up.
I absolutely love this place. I have celiac, and I eat here about once a week and I’ve never gotten sick. All of their tacos except for two are gluten free, and a majority of their menu outside of the tacos are gluten free too. The bar staff is super nice and knowledgeable. My favorite tacos are the catfish, they’re fried and breaded with corn flakes. And they have a gluten free fryer.
