This is (or maybe was) one of my favourite restaurants in the area. I used to come here a lot before my diagnosis, it was one of our preffered places to go as a family. This time, we came for lunch and asked for the gluten free options. There was not much, but there was a tagliatelle that was marked gluten free. As they had other difficulties before (they looked a bit overwhelmed) and another waiter brought out my food, I decided to double check before I eat and ask if the pasta was indeed gluten free. The waiter said he will double check. He went to my original waiter who said he forgot to put in the order that way and that they will bring me another on in a minute. After about 3 minutes they came back and said they talked to the cook and that this pasta is ALWAYS gluten free. But my waiter who has been working there for at least five years had no idea. Which makes me a bit anxious to eat there?! Then as a desert I ask for ice cream and specify that if it comes with any biscuit, they need to do mine without because I have celiac. A third waiter brings it with a biscuit in the middle. When I tell him I can not have it because I have gluten intolerance, he simply takes out the biscuit… when I tell him that I am sorry, but that wont work in this case, he is huffing and puffing and makes me feel like I am the idiot. I left feeling gutted that not even in a restaurant I considered great can they tackle this issue. And I also felt humiliated. I don‘t think I will return.

Staff were friendly and seemed to have a good understanding of gluten free food. We were a fairly large group eating a pre booked 'a discretion' menu so didn't see the menu, but staff were able to indicate which dishes were gluten free as they brought them to the table, happy to check with the chef when I had questions and there was plenty of choice. Also no problem providing a separate salad bowl for me when the group dish was 'decorated' with bread sticks.
