I have never been so disappointed in a meal before. So over priced. And not even worth it. $9.50 for three pieces of bacon?? $16 for one GF/vegan waffle with fruit?!? It was gummy and not crispy at all. Tasted just like the $16 gummy pancakes. Was really hoping for a nice, crisp waffle crust. The pancakes were fluffy and had good flavor for GF/vegan, and husband enjoyed his omelette but we’ll never go back. Too many other options in San Diego.
Ate here twice between Christmas and New Year’s 2023. The first time I got pancakes (8) and bacon. Really filling and no reaction. The bacon was thick and chewy. The second time I got hash and eggs. The hash was a bit overcooked on the flattop and I’d probably not order it again. We liked this place so much we ate here 2 days in a row. A bit expensive but not more than the other breakfast place we went to down the road. No adverse reaction from either meal I ate.
Awesome breakfast. My wife is gluten intolerant and we enjoyed the breakfast so much that we made sure to return before we left town. They have GF waffles and GF pancakes and French toast (note, french toast not GF). We also did the ham and eggs scramble. Huge. Next time we are in town, we will return here for sure, and have the oven bake omelets. We did not realize until later that was one of their specialties. Wait was not bad. About 15 mins for two with 10 to 15 people on line during weekday.
Had the gluten free pancakes and they were amazing. I did not get sick after, and I’m very sensitive. They were so good, I almost questioned if they were really gf. And the coffee was amazing!! They solely source it, and then for bacon/sausage/fresh ingredients, they locally source all of it. Wonderful business to support.
I assumed if I said I was celiac and had them notate a gluten allergy when we ordered that that would be enough but it wasn’t. You need to be sure you specifically tell them how to cook your food and emphasize the importance of it (eggs and hash browns in a separate pan, not on shared grill). They brought my food along with some friends’ food who are not gluten sensitive and the staff couldn’t tell me which, if any, was the food prepared gluten sensitive. They remade it for us to be safe which was nice. They told me eggs were safe and I later found out they’re made on the same griddle as the regular pancakes. Waffles are in a shared iron so that’s a no go for sensitive folks. Sausage is floured so also a no go. Wait at 7:30 was just a few mins. They do a great job of getting people in and out.
I was really excited about going here to get their gluten free waffles. Lots of good reviews on this place and then when I got there, they stated that they don't have a separate gluten free waffle griddle and that they only clean the waffle griddle with hot oil before using it for their gluten free waffles. I'm super sensitive so I was unable to have their waffles, what a bummer. They did let me know as well that their grill is used for grilling breads but they clean it off with hot oil for eggs and such.
I asked if I could have an omelette in a pan instead and they were able to accommodate. Great omelette, definitely able to feed two people!
Knowledgeable staff! Gluten free waffles and pancakes available. Be prepared to wait as it is a small restaurant.
The gluten free pancakes are really good. Other reviews say a long wait. We got here at 7 am and didn't have to wait at all. Service was great. For 3 people, it was $63 + tip.
Not a Celiac Friendly restaurant. I wanted Gf waffles that stated Gluten Free in menu and staff indicated that they are made in same waffle maker as regular waffles and pancakes made on same grill. I appreciate the waiter telling me. Wheat free but not gluten free.
Went at 7:30 a.m. The place had no wait & plenty of staff. I ordered the GF strawberry waffle & it was amazing! Fresh strawberries not a compote or canned crud. My boyfriend had an omelette that was huge!
Really tasty gf pancakes and Belgian waffles, plus the best coffee ever. their omelettes are delicious too. Always excellent service but get there early because there's always a line.
I have yet to get a gf waffle or pancake that is as good as a wheat-filled one, but it was still pretty tasty. I ordered a waffle with bananas and enjoyed it. The service was excellent, too.
This restaurant does NOT have GF waffles or pancakes. 'GF waffles' are made in the same iron as the regular ones. The pancakes are made on the same griddle. DO NOT go here if you are concerned about cross contamination. I left as they clearly don't know anything about gluten and cross contamination.
