Amazing! Delicious! Entirely gluten free (many items also available dairy, egg, nut &/or soy free). Two tables inside to eat at, fantastic coffee too. Cute neighborhood, come visit; you’ll not be disappointed here. It’s safe and it’s spectacular!

Well worth the 40 min walk I just took to get here. The cinnamon roll is so good and the ham and cheese sandwich had the best gluten free bread I’ve ever tried. The red velvet cupcake was eh but over all I’m happy :)

Wonderful breads! Easy walk from my conference hotel meant I could have a real breakfast every day! Coffee was great. Can get an egg sandwich in the morning! Gf croissants were the best I’ve had in a long time. Wish I could fill my suitcase with goodies to come home with!

Incredible baked goods, and 100% celiac friendly. Had a croissant for the first time in 10 years, and it was absolutely delicious! Everything I tried had amazing texture and tasted just like the real thing. Will go back to Rise again and again.

I stop in here periodically when I'm craving a safe, gluten free treat. The shop is 100% GF and they also take into account various food allergies when making their treats. Everything I've tried has been good but I especially love the bagel breakfast Sammie. So delicious!

Both the food and the service were fantastic! Because my friend and I were visiting from out of town they agreed to make sandwiches for us even though we got there after their normal lunch service (I went for the eclairs and had forgotten they make sandwiches). I got a simple ham and cheese sandwich and loved it. the bread was light and fluffy and slightly sweet. My friend's breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel smelled really good, too. And my eclair was totally worth the trip! I haven't had an eclair in at least 5 years and I am so glad I visited this bakery! I also got a croissant, a raspberry bar, and a couple doughnuts while I was there. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm really looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!

Meh. We were in DC for a day trip and decided to stop here on the way home. We have a local GF bakery that we love and I am a decent baker. We went at the end of the day Sunday, so selection was low but I'm not really impressed with the flavor or texture of the things we ordered. We will try another GF place next visit.

Celiac heaven!!! First croissant I've ever found gluten free. Plain, ham and cheese, or chocolate. Or there are eclairs, or cupcakes, or cake, or cookies, or breads, or bagels... worth schlepping across the country for, let alone getting across D.C. for.

I really don't know where to start here. Rise is one of the best places I found since I got my celiac diagnosis last year. The food is amazing. Non-celiacs will love the food too - it's not boring and dry gluten free food. As someone who lived without a gluten allergy for 25 years, I know good baked goods and Rise's food is better than 99% of bakeries I've been to. Best dishes? The nutella brownies and chocolate creme pie. Also, get the superfood bread in bulk. It may look small but it packs HUGE taste and keeps forever. I get 2-3 loaves every time I go in.

It feels good to walk into a bakery and feel normal. I had a delicious ham and cheese croissant and a frittata- and I didn't have to mention my celiac disease once, because everything there is safe! Wish I had a Rise Bakery where I live.

Dedicated GF facility. Everything delicious. I loved the cinnamon roll (sticky bun) and ham and cheese croissant, and liked the Nutella brownie. My wife and daughter (both Celiac) had several items each with no adverse reaction. If you're vacationing in D.C., this place is a little out of the way (three miles from downtown), but totally worth the drive.

UPDATE: if you are very sensitive avoid the gluten free croissants with oat flour! I had a bad reaction. Otherwise, everything else was wonderful with no reaction. Original review: I haven't had pastries in years...these were amazing! So pleased to have found this place. Favs: the eclair, chocolate and traditional croissant, and cinnamon rolls. Bought extra to have in my hotel room for breakfast/snacks for later. I'll be back while I'm in DC!

Delicious croissants!! I had one with cheese and ham - wished I would've bought more because it was amazing (chewy, buttery, flaky outer crust, yum)!! The bagel was also yummy! Their cinnamon roll was pretty tasty, but not what I think of for a true cinnamon roll. Overall, a quaint, dedicated gf bakery place worth visiting and they even allowed me to do a call-ahead order and held the items for pickup!

I'm lucky enough to live a few blocks from Rise Bakery and go here about once per week. I can't say enough about how great the food is there. From bagels to cupcakes to chili, they've done a great job of offering a wide variety of gluten free options that are well thought out.

Wow! Best gluten free ham and cheese croissant I have ever had. You would never know its gluten free. Many soy free options. Many dairy free options, although soy free items are not typically dairy free. Saw labels for egg free items as well. Clearly labeled foods and knowledgable, friendly staff. Owner is very in tune with food allergies.

I came here during the marathon to pick up some treats for my husband who was running. I couldn't decide, so I got about 5 things. He just about died after the race, due to what I was presenting him with. This place is amazing!!! I mean, you run 26 miles and then you get to eat things you never thought you would be able to have, again? Perfection. I scored some major points, and we will definitely be back on our next trip!!!

So yummy. Walked here after a visit to the zoo. They deliver, so next time I might plan to have a delivery of ham and cheese croissants and empanadas made to our location for an easy GF zoo picnic. As you need to do with all bakeries, go early for the best selection.
