What a treat it is to have this in DC. The cinnamon roll is pretty good. I’ve also had a panini from here. All just super tasty!

Pick up a gf panini or grilled cheese sandwich for lunch along with your pastries!
Get there early if you want something specific (like a croissant)! I went in close to closing at 6, and they were sold out of many things. They are very popular!
Piece of heaven in DC! Amazing food and wonderful people. Will be back each time I am in town

delicious! just flew in from LA after having lived here for a bit and came straight from the airport to grab some dinner before closing time. got a delicious chicken sammie on soft brioche bread - incredible considering it was closing time. can't wait to eat the rest of my usual favorites (crossaint eclaire etc).

Rise is a fully dedicated gluten free bakery. I ordered almond croissants (delicious), biscuits (excellent), challah (ok -haven't had a good one from anywhere), chocolate croissants (very good), and the mixed berry scone (also very good). We were not as thrilled with the pecan pie (not enough filling, too many nuts) and the pumpkin pie (just plain tasting). My newly gluten free grandchildren and son in law were quite pleased to try these treats for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to trying other items in the future.

Delicious, safe, and the best variety of options I’ve seen at a gluten-free bakery!

I got diagnosed with celiac last week. It’s been difficult because I have a very bread heavy diet and I LOVE baking. Today I bought the bagels, brioche bread, and a cookies and cream cupcake. I’m blown away by how good everything tastes and it gives me hope that I’ll be able to keep baking good sweet treats because I did not think gluten free food could be this good.

So awesome, so good. Pumpkin cake roll-up is this fall's crave. How do they get the sponge cake so spongey and delicious?!?!??

Love this bakery! It saw sweet and savory options. They also have frozen options to enjoy at a later time.

Oh my goodness…I think I am in gf heaven!! These are THE BEST gf goodies I have ever had! The eclair, turnover and bagel are so good a non-gf person would never know they’re gf!

A gluten free paradise. There’s no indoor seating only one bench but the food is what makes it worth it. I wanted to order everything on the menu. I got a half dozen bagels to take home with me. This is what gf dreams are made of.

The brioche buns are my favorite. Rich, buttery, light, great taste and texture. I keep some on-hand in the freezer for burgers or to serve as giant rolls with dinner. Ginger Molasses(?) cookies are also good. I’ve tried almost everything they offer. Really can’t go wrong here.

The baked goods are mediocre, not quite as good as the GF bakeries you’ll find in NYC and SF.
Some GF bakers know how to trick you into thinking you’re eating gluten. It is obvious that the food from Rise is GF.

I was on a work trip to DC and Rise wasn’t too far from the hotel. My first visit there I got two sandwiches—one hot and one cold (for later) and the carrot cake cupcake. The sandwiches were delicious!!! The cupcake, not my favorite—I ended up throwing half of it out. A couple days later I ordered the veggie pizza and it might be the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. I didn’t get sick at all and highly recommend.

The $13 bacon egg cheese biscuit was awful. It was extremely dry. I took one bite and couldn’t get it swallowed. I had to wash it down with water and threw away $13. The brownie was fire but not worth the price unless you don’t have means to make them yourself.

Amazing selections. Great sandwiches and the vanilla cheesecake is amazing. You can’t even tell it’s GF.

This place was a dream! I went with a gluten sensitive friend and we were thrilled. The bagels were great, if a little tough, the cheesecake delicious, the croissant very flaky (if a little oily). I wish I lived next door!

I have been a customer at Rise for several years. I was so happy when I found them because I could have brownies and eclairs and bisquits again if I wanted to. They are completely gluten free so rest assured no cross contamination. The customer service has been great . Only once was my ordered mixed up over the years of going there.

Croissants and warm biscuit with butter were AMAZING! Make sure to ask for both warm, the biscuit is kinda dry when it’s cold. We also got sandwiches that were only meh, not very flavorful and kinda dry. Overall good experience! Wish I could have tried more baked goods.

You CANNOT leave DC without stopping here for a few baked goods! And be prepared to leave with a bag full of goodies! It’s a 15 minute walk from the National Zoo through the cutest town called Adams Morgan. The bakery is dedicated gluten free and caters to many other allergens (egg, dairy, soy, and nut allergies are labeled online) and there are many vegan options. Do yourself a favor and get at least one biscuit and croissant! All of the other treats I’ve tried so far were also very delicious! My gluten eating family loved everything too, especially the bag of 6 very large, chewy chocolate chip cookies ($10). They also have cupcakes, cheesecake, pies, dinner rolls, buns, bagels, scones, and much more! Amazing!

So brilliant to walk into this bakery where my daughter could try anything that looked good to her! We had the ham and cheese croissant, the biscuit breakfast sandwich, and a Panini with pesto and turkey. All excellent. And great coffee too!

Very pleasant employees on both my visits. Ham and cheese croissant was highly recommended and did not disappoint. I went back for more of these. The cinnamon roll was very tasty. The tiramisu was ok- maybe it wasn’t mascarpone as it may have been vegan- I didn’t look that closely. The carrot cake cupcake was very dense and dry but frosting was good. Maybe it was also vegan. The texture reminded me of muffins made with coconut oil rather than dairy. I will definitely go back when I am in the area.

Best GF bakery I’ve been to. The cheesecake is really amazing. The ham and cheese croissants are very tasty. The chocolate croissants are super yummy and made with good chocolate. The dough is a bit dense but for gf they are awesome. The brioche bread is really great too. Having a dedicated gf bakery with friendly staff is such a great experience!

Really wanted to love this place. Maybe I’m too recently diagnosed with celiac and am comparing with gluten-containing baked goods, but I really wasn’t impressed. Croissant was doughy and dense, and bagels were small and just okay (another bagel and biscuit my group had were dry). Obviously appreciated the variety, but it left me feeling like I could learn how to bake these things better.

Highly recommend the croissants! Probably the best gf one I’ve ever had. I had the ham and cheese and chocolate. I also tried the cinnamon roll, the dough was pretty good but the frosting was not great. The eclair was fine. I also got a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, I would recommend that as well. This bakery is in Adams Morgan, about a 20 minute walk from a Metro stop.

I want to kiss every person who works here tenderly on the forehead. I had a ham and cheese croissant sandwich for the first time ever and my GOD was it so good. Of course I had to get the bagels, both a fresh one and frozen ones, so I’m very excited to have those. I had to kook up the bakery online again afterwards just to make sure it was really gluten free. Also, amazing prices but worth every penny either way!

Think I got glutened there on 11/11/2022. Maybe it was the bagels. I didn't eat anything else different from my normal food, and I am really careful. This is the first time in over a year since I got diagnosed that I think I got glutened

I got a BLT for lunch, I was starving and devoured this lol. The sandwich was a little pricey, but I feel like they did not skimp on bacon and the bread was very thick. I enjoyed it a lot as I don't get something like this often, however I wish it came with a side. I also got a pumpkin cheesecake slice, this was such a decadent treat, I highly recommend! One item to note about the Dupont Circle location is that they recently done away with their seating. Since we were touring on the go we had to go sit in a Subway nearby as there were not many benches. I would recommend calling beforehand and double checking if you want to eat there or having a place lined up to eat for breakfast or lunch. Lastly I got a croissant and OMG the first one I've had in awhile, loved it!
