Celiac friendly with several options. I found the croissant to be very dense; I wouldn’t order it again.

It was all delicious! I had the pesto sandwich on a croissant and was one of my favorite sandwiches at a gluten free bakery. My kids ate every bite of their cupcakes. Highly recommend!

I got the vegan chocolate chip cookies and the dairy free chocolate cake and they were absolutely amazing. Even my picky brother loved them. Any celiac wanting some baked goods should definitely go here. The only thing I got a stomach ache from was eating too much. The only down side was not having many different options for the baked goods, but I got what I wanted so I’m happy.

Gluten-free facility! Super tiny space (only 2 tables), and a great selection of baked goods. We have been in 3 times during our 6-day visit, and they have THE BEST cinnamon rolls and croissants that I’ve ever had!

My first chocolate croissant in 10 years- SO good! Their panini sandwich was fine but not the best I've ever had. I would recommend getting their baked goods rather than having your meal there. Try the croissants and red velvet cupcakes!

Loved the hot ham and cheese sandwich. Son had bacon egg on bagel and it was good. Brownies amazing! Chocolate flourless cake was good. Carrot cupcake was eh, weird spice in it and it was dry. They have seating for 4 in case you want to eat there.

The bagel sandwiches (egg and bacon) were yummy but not exceptional. My daughter really liked her grilled cheese. Don’t get your hopes up about the croissants. In no way does it taste or flake like a traditional croissants, it’s more like a dense sweet roll. The cinnamon roll was better but also dense and dry. I always appreciate a 100% GF bakery and seek them out- but I wouldn’t bother going here again.

Very good bakery, nice staff. We came in right at closing and the woman still helped us and was very sweet about it. The cupcakes were amazing, the biscuits were so good, they tasted like they had gluten! We’ll definitely go back next time we’re in the area.

Food was good. But there’s very limited seating so this is a place better for “passing by” and taking it to go, if you’re in the area. Staff was not super friendly but at least I know it’s safe for me to eat here.

We went to Rise during our visit to DC and we’re excited to bring our kids to a dedicated GF bakery. The food was pretty good. We tried the grilled cheese, turkey pesto, and BLT sandwiches. The cinnamon rolls were a bit dense, but still had good flavor. Unfortunately, I’m giving them 2 stars because the service wasn’t great and the prices are high even for a GF restaurant. The person who took our order seemed very unhappy to be there. Also, we took our order to go and by the time we realized they forgot one of our sandwiches (which cost $10.95 btw), instead of offering to make it so we could drive by to pick it up they defaulted to refunding the money. Showed no interest in helping us out even though we offered to drive by again. Not sure we’d visit again.

A whole GF bakery, what a relief for a celiac! However, I found that their labelling of lunch items (sandwiches etc) was insufficient and staff gave really confused statements when we enquired which lunch items we dairy-free. Please label all your options and train your staff better! I liked the sweet options they had, but was quite disappointed in their bread and bagels. Considering the quality, it is also really expensive.

Rise is my favorite of the DC area GF establishments. Just wish they had a suburban outpost, preferably VA. Their bagels come the closest to real bagels and are sooo delicious. Their cinnamon rolls and cupcakes are pretty good, too. I like their muffins the least, but there are so many other things to choose from. I will go out of my when I'm in DC to pick up a 4-pack of bagels to take home.

Yes, it’s always exciting to find a dedicated GF facility! Yes, they’ve managed a close reproduction of a bagel which is (let’s be honest) miraculous by itself. I’ve become quite sensitive to rice and am struggling after eating here. They use a LOT of rice flour in their products.

Everything is GF! I had a chocolate croissant and a bagel and both were delicious (if a little expensive). Just as an FYI, there’s only two tables and you have to go in via stairs (not practical with a pushchair and a bad back). Even so, am sad I don’t live nearby so I can go again!!

The entire bakery is gf. They’ve got two tables that each seat two. Their lunch menu has two sandwich options that were both delicious. A BLT and a turkey & cheddar. Both served on THE BEST gf rolls I’ve ever had. Moist and flavorful. We got several goodies to go.

Dedicated celiac bakery! I had a breakfast biscuit, very tasty! My boyfriend who does not have celiac had the BLT, as they ran out of turkey for the turkey sandwich he had ordered. They were very apologetic about it and gave us a free menu item of our choice. We shared a cheesecake, which was our favorite dessert, as well as a carrot cupcake and a Nutella brownie.
