Everything gluten free is phenomenal, best place in the Paramus-Lodi-Hackensack Area with Gluten Free Italian food, hands down. Try the rice balls.

I ate there once after the new owners took over. It was a one & done for me. My chicken parm was gross & the pasta was so chewy. I’d rather stay home & cook for myself. My family got non GF food & they didn’t like theirs either.

I’m a bit heartbroken writing this review. The new owners are very nice, but my GF chicken sandwich was inedible. They did fry the chicken in a pot to avoid cross contamination but it was paper thin with a tasteless coating(I can’t even describe it as breaded). I asked for lettuce and tomato which was also paper thin. They forgot the mayo and the bun was straight out of the package and not heated or toasted in the oven. They also raised the prices. I through my sandwich out when I got home. While I appreciate that they want to continue serving the GF customers from the previous owners, they have a lot of work to do to improve the offerings.

Not celiac friendly. Not sure what type of celiac her grandchildren have, because she used the same ladle and same cheese that her husband had just finished using to make a gluten pizza. When I confronted them they kicked us out. Terrible.

I’ve been here twice. The owners have grandchildren who have celiac so they were very knowledgeable. The eggplant rollitini and the garlic bread are a MUST. The pizza was very good and it is the best Italian food I’ve had in the area. Very good!!

Everything is delicious! The owner was there the night we popped by and explained that she could make nearly everything on the menu gluten free. When I asked what I should get, she answered: “What do you miss most?” Can’t say enough about this place. I felt completely safe.

When I have a functioning that I know will not have GF options available I always order from here to bring or have delivered. The GF shrimp parm dinner is my usual go to and if I'm in the mood for an appetizer I almost always get the GF rice balls. Soups are excellent too. Great staff and knowledgeable! I have celiac and have never once had an issue.

Service was tremendous, asked what I missed the most as they were willing to make me anything. Chicken Parmigiana sandwich was great, couldn’t even tell it was gluten free.

Amazing chicken milanese sandwich!!! The breaded chicken tasted fantastic and was seasoned so well. Gluten free bread was great. The owner was nice enough to throw in some chicken noodle soup for me try and it was really good. The owners’ grandchild has Celiac and most things can be made gluten free. Super super good.

16 year old just diagnosed. We live about 5 miles away. So happy we found. Family is very understanding and explain all the ingredients and what they have. They make anything you want gluten free. No convection oven. They take good care of the cross contamination and were totally amazing people. And the food was really delicious. We had gf penne vodka. Taste amazing. No meat. Some dairy.
Had the GF pizza. Perfect. Small. Individual size. Perfect.
Thank you for your warmth and kindness. In this day and age. We all should start to be nicer people.
We. Any wait to come back. Thanks! Francine.

Wife had a GF eggplant parm while I had the non-GF. Both were absolutely delicious! And the owners are sweet as can be. Highly recommended.

Great food, chicken parm sandwich anyone?!? It’s really good. Buffalo chicken strips perhaps?!? Really good! Pasta and sauce, really good as well. Her two grand kids are Celiac, need I say more? She knows what she’s doing and how to do it. Go eat, drink and rejoice.

I went to this place and there were sooo many available gluten free options example: gluten free rice balls, pizza, meatballs, breaded chicken, French fries and etc. This became our favorite place to eat! But it is very cramped because it is a small place so I wouldn’t sit and eat. ( also I never got sick this is coming from a person with severe celiac)
Yes
Update: even tho I haven’t gotten sick from here.. a few weeks ago I ordered two pasta dishes and one chicken fingers dish and all three dishes failed the Nima test :( at least they tried.

Love this place....always visit when travelling up North. Not sure why someone would post not gluten free when that is one of my main choices and River Edge never disappoints. A must try.
Not gluten free. No dedicated fryer. They use the same oven and tools for the pizza.

Amazing food and options. They pretty much made anything we wanted and everything came out great.

Best cheese steak sandwich! Amazing bread. Get the cheesy garlic bread too!

The food is excellent, the owners are friendly and knowledgeable, and the GF options are plentiful and delicious.
The owners are very understanding when it comes to food restrictions. They take preparing gluten free meals very seriously and they are completely aware of the severity of celiac disease. They even asked us right away if we were gluten free.
The menu clearly states what meals can be made GF and there's a great deal of GF options available. You don't have worry about cross contamination here!
I had the GF garlic bread and GF eggplant parm and they were both delicious!
10/10 would recommend!

The GF pizza was great and the GF meatballs were the best I've had! Not the mention the owners, they were so friendly and helpful. They have family who's celiac so they really care about what and who they serve.

We stopped here on the way home from vacation, and I was so happy we did. The owners were really friendly and have grandchildren who are celiac and lactose intolerant. They made me feel super comfortable. The meatball Parmesan sandwich was delicious! Definitely stop here if you have the chance.

Was great, unfortunately we arrived when they were out of GF ravioli. Pizza was tasty

The BEST Italian food I’ve had. My family enjoyed the gluten free and gluten-filled food equally. I had a meatball parm hero, rice balls, and fried shrimp... what?!?!! So awesome! I even got another order to take home with me. I will absolutely be back. Owners were incredibly friendly and a pleasure to talk to.
Yes
The food here is wonderful. I have a gluten allergy and this is some of the BEST Gluten Free Pizza I’ve ever had. The owner of the restaurant also gave me free rice balls which were also delicious. The service can’t be beat.
Yes
Almost everything on the menu had a GF option! Their margarita pizza was amazing, and the owners were so sweet and knowledgeable about Celiac. What a nice experience!
This place is a shithole. I walked in as a new customer and asked if the food was safe for my celiac son. An old man behind the counter was so rude and nasty and was completely annoyed that I asked the question. I have a right to question the staff in a restaurant to make sure food I'm paying for is safe. Absolutely disgusting attitude and place looked dirty too.

so great to find an Italian restaurant that knows how to make good, flavorful gluten free food. SO good.

I stopped by yesterday for some dinner for my family including my daughter who is newly diagnosed with cd. we got the gf pizza which she said was delicious and she loved the gf chicken quinoa soup. we also had the non gf baked ziti which my husband and I agreed was delicious. The best gluten free pizza I've found. Love this place!
The service was absolutely awful!! My son has been GF for a year so needless to say I was very excited when I saw their menu specially since I'd heard great things about them. To my disappointment the woman (I assume the owner) was extremely extremely rude. I'm also not sure how they get high reviews for being Celiac friendly. She told me her 3 grandkids all have Celiac so of course I had high expectations. When we first walked in, she was eating from a pan even while we continued to stand at the counter. She proceeded to make the GF pizza without gloves nor washing her hands. She wiped her face with the side of her hand never washing her hands. I am greatly disappointed in the experience because I thought I had found a "safe" restaurant in the area. I will never ever go back there again. I never write reviews but the negative experience compelled me to write one. My true rating is 0 stars.
