Spectacular birthday dinner, with all my favourite dishes from before diagnosis and a few new ones too. Charming service and that unbeatable feeling of being able to enjoy a meal out without anxiety.

I know there is some question about whether Riz is safe. I had no problems the time I ate there. I found it to be really refreshing to have such an extensive gf menu to choose from, especially because I haven’t tried Asian food since diagnosis. The portions were generous. My only complaint was that the sauce for my meal was so sweet that I had a sugar coma all afternoon afterwards. But I’ll still go back, and just be more careful to order something with a less sugary sauce. My allergic kid also loved their food, and the staff was very good w multiple allergies (went to talk to kitchen and found that there was corn starch in something, which we couldn’t have).

While this is where the gluten free establishment started, I know that the GF practice at this location is no longer as strict as it once was. I find that dining at the Yonge location allows me the peace of mind I need as someone with celiac. This information has been confirmed by the management, that their certifications by the gluten intolerance group and Canadian Celiac Association now only now exists at their Yonge location.

The food here is SO GOOD. My husband is celiac and I am vegetarian and we struggle to find places to eat together in the city. (Though honestly the celiac is way harder to accommodate). They do serve food with gluten but have a completely separate kitchen for gluten free and all gluten free dishes come out on plates that say "gluten free" on them.

We usually get all you can eat and then eat way more than we ever should. No regrets! This location doesn't have sushi rolls, but it does have gluten free deep fried calamari!

For gluten-free Asian food, RIZ cannot be topped! The overwhelming large glutenfree menu assures that you'll have a hard time deciding exactly what to order.

Our lovely server told us that they worked with Sick Kids, CCA, and a consultant to develop their menu and kitchen. We had two amazing meals there while staying in Toronto. Dishes not to miss: Singapore noodles with tofu/veg, crispy chicken spring rolls, and crispy beef. Sooo amazing!

Riz has nailed gluten free dining down to the very plates! Every gluten free dish emerges from the kitchen on a plate labeled gluten free! They have dedicated deep friers and almost everything is gluten free. They have the best spring rolls I have ever had the pleasure of eating!
