April 28, 2019. Did my due diligence with this restaurant. Called ahead and spoke with manager, etc. I went into the restaurant feeling confident that I could eat safely at a large family event. They had four items on their menu that were GF. My server did not know what gluten was or about cross-contamination. She assured me the kitchen understood. Nobody (the server or the kitchen) could tell me if the salad dressings were GF. I ordered the cod dish, which was said to be prepared in the GF kitchen space. I had a baked potato and the vegetable of the day. During our 95 minute family event, I became very ill with all the symptoms of being glutened. The server told my wife that she did not know that the side dishes needed to also be GF. I am pretty sure that my vegetables with marinara sauce were cross-contaminated. That is the most likely source, but I'll never know and I'll never go back to that restaurant. Beware!
This is my go to place to eat when I want an awesome GF meal! The Ravioli and Chicken Parm are both awesome! We actually got married here because I knew I could enjoy an great GF meal on my wedding day! I would highly suggest Rizzo’s! The staff and owners are great as well!
One of the best gluten free meals I’ve ever had out!! The staff extremely (and I mean extremely knowledgeable about gluten free). They have a different sauce just for us gluten free people too!! If I’ve had gluten I get immediately sick and I don’t feel one ounce sick at all. I got the broiled cod. 2 pieces of huge fish with a lemon garlic butter sauce + 2 sides. My mom got the gluten free chicken parmigiana + 2 sides. Plus because you can never find these out we got gluten free cheese ravioli!! These ravioli were so good you never would have know they were gluten free. Now you only get 6 but they are decently sized. I would go back in a heart beat. Prices were decent too.
one of my favorite & only places i order gluten free italian food from. the cheese raviolis ARE THE BEST!
I got the chicken parmigiana. I haven’t eaten that in so long. It was excellent!! No worries about getting sick. Nice upper scale Italian restaurant. Love going there
I hate to give bad reviews, but I want to be helpful for those who need gluten free. Before I begin, know that I am EXTREMELY sensitive. Even the littlest bit effects me. I went here for an event and was told that they had gluten free pasta. They brought mine out before the "regular" food at the party, and the managers even talked to me personally. I was so excited to eat the pasta, but unfortunately was sick as a dog just ten minutes later. I'm not sure if some type of cross contamination went on, or what the issue was, but I would not recommend to those are sensitive like myself.
The staff was knowledgable and the food was decent. I was really excited to have ravioli for the first time since being diagnosed but it was a bit plain- next time I'll try the pizza!
Very nice gluten free menu including pizza, ravioli, rigatoni and more. Gf pizza is delicious! Have always loved eating at Rizzos and happy that I can continue eating there with gf options.
