We got a burger in a gluten free bun and a side of potato salad. Both were excellent with no issues. We just asked the server to have the kitchen follow allergy precautions.
Ate a burger on a lettuce wrap with side salad. They did have a gluten free bun but waitress didn’t know if it was also dairy free. Didn’t have any problem. That was about the only option there was though.

Ate here for lunch today. I wasn’t expecting them to have much knowledge about gluten allergies but I was pleasantly surprised that the waiter offered a gluten free bun for the sandwiches and he knew to warn me about anything fried in the fryer and that the milkshakes share the same mixer for all shakes. I ended up getting the cheesesteak sandwich and potato salad. I’ll definitely come here again!

We have eaten at The Rookery several times over the years. Hamburgers, grilled chicken, hand cut fries, etc. Food is always good and staff is aware of gluten allergies. Anytime we are in or close to Macon, we always make it a point to stop by.

Called them and asked about GF accommodations and was told that they have GF buns. When I asked what items they had on their menu that were gluten freehand suggested the chicken, I was told “uh, the only thing we have here that is gluten free is our buns. So, no, not going to risk it if they have that little understanding of a gluten allergy!

This restaurant is NOT gluten friendly. They were SHOCKED when I showed them this app and that it said they had a dedicated fryer. They DO NOT!!! They were very kind with our confusion but the staff were not versed in what items are gluten free. BEWARE.
No
They do have a gluten free bun for an added charge but they DO NOT have a dedicated fryer. I’ve eaten here once before and didn’t get sick but I also didn’t eat any of their sides to be safe. Somewhat celiac friendly.
Yes
Servers have always been very knowledgeable about GF and cross contamination. Helped us order and the food is always great. Never an issue for my celiac daughter
They have gluten free buns but are not very knowledgeable at all about what else is gluten free. The waitress didn't even offer to check for us. At the end of our meal, I asked about the shakes and this time she offered to ask the kitchen and came back and said they are all gluten free, even though some are made with cake batter. What?! Oh except for the one with peanut butter because you know all peanut butter has gluten?! Ugh not helpful at all.
No
they do not have separate fryers for French fries but they do have GF hamburger buns for a $1 up charge.
Excellent knowledgeable service, good gluten-free options. Very popular! Be prepared for a crowd.
Best gluten free bun ever.
Excellent Service. Servers all familiar with products as well as definitions & requirements of celiac & other allergens.
