Great reviews led us here and did not disappoint. I am grateful for the separate gluten free menu. I ordered the beef carpaccio, burrata and the carbonara. Hands down, best gf pasta I've had. Tasted like real noodles. Only disappointment was all they had for gf dessert options was sorbet. I would definitely eat here again.
I was very excited about this restaurant since it had so many positive reviews and appeared to have a separate gluten free menu. When we arrived they asked how many gluten free menus we needed. When we ordered we told the waiter we would be ordering all gluten free so my husband and I could share everything. The first item to come out was the burrata salad. I noticed croutons and called the waiter over to make sure they were gluten free. He took it and came back with a new one that had no croutons and had an allergy stick on it. Glad I didn’t assume. All of the remaining items we ordered did come out with an allergy stick.
The food was absolutely delicious! Both my daughter and I safely ate here. We have dinner and dessert! We are both Gluten and Dairy intolerant. Our waiter was knowledgeable and the best waiter we had the entire time we were visiting DC! Highly recommend.
Ate there 7/27/24 and it was wonderful. Nice GF menu that had so many options and was able to be read easily. Waiter was knowledgeable. So many options. Had Chicken Parmesan and portions so big and came with pasta. Would recommend.
The homemade gluten free pasta is the best gluten free pasta I’ve ever had. The wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
The restaurant was very dark and loud. We sat very close to other couples on both side. I was given a GF menu that had plenty of options. The waiter told me she would let the kitchen know and that my food would be marked. The food did not come out marked GF so I was reluctant to eat it, but I did not get sick. I ordered the carbonara and spicy broccolini. They had several flavors of gelato for dessert.
I came here to say with my mom and brother who are not gf while i have celiac. the server was incredible. they started with a bread app i could not have and then we decided we would share two gf dishes and they would get small apps to supplement. we all agreed the gf chicken parm was the best chicken parm we have ever had. the server changed all of their app plates and silver ware before the gf came out to not cross contaminate. and held off on their final apps until we had everything split up to make sure nothing got confused. i get very anxious about cross contamination and eating and RPM took such great care of everything. I need one in Boston
Excellent place for very safe gluten free food! When we sat down I let the waiter know I had celiac disease and he was very helpful. Started with the brussels sprouts salad that was very good! For my entree I got the chicken parmesan that also came with a small bowl of GF fettuccine with sauce. I went on my birthday so for desert they brought me a scoop of their house made pistachio gelato that was very good!
Outstandingly good food. Like, jaw droppingly delicious. We mentioned celiac in the reservation and everyone who served us knew about it and could walk me through the menu. I'd HIGHLY recommend the wild mushroom risotto (they use vegetable stock so it's also vegetarian!). It's expensive but a great option during restaurant week!
This place was absolutely phenomenal. My waiter was awesome and had plenty of recommendations on what to do in the city . The chicken parm was to die for i have never had chicken that was so tender and juicy in my life : the mashed potato’s were out of this world . And to finish i had a pistachio gelato that was probably my favorite part of the entire meal . 10/10
Love this place! The atmosphere is great and energetic. The servers understood gluten issues. Separate gluten free menu. My husband and I both ordered the chicken Parmesan which is gluten free for everyone. His came with spaghetti and mine with gluten free in house made pasta. We both loved it and had leftovers. My kids enjoyed their food too.
Love this restaurant. Been here several times. Has a dedicated GF kitchen. The dining room atmosphere is chic and sophisticated. I will say though, the last couple of times we went, service was sub par. But this is our current go-to restaurant for a safe night out.
I spent a lot of time researching a nice night out and this place did not disappoint. It’s important to mention that cross contamination is an issue if you have celiac and it does seem to eliminate some options, but the GF pasta was so amazing. We had some delicious cocktails as the desert option wasn’t something I was interested in.
GF menu, knowledgeable staff, GF confirmation when food brought to the table, homemade GF linguine, and the Chicken Parmesan is delicious!
Delicious food, knowledgeable staff. Lengthy list of gluten free options (even the chicken park breading is with gf panko). Very trendy (read: crowded, loud music). Not recommended for kids (pomodoro sauce was too spicy).
If I’m reviewing for myself, 5 stars. For my kid, 1 star.
Waitress was very knowledgeable, even asked if cross contamination was an issue for an extra accommodation. GF options are made totally separate from other menu items. There is a gluten free menu and waitress was able to explain the additional steps that would be taken to avoid CC.
The food was beyond amazing. Very knowledgeable staff with great recommendations and a full gluten free menu including dessert options. I high recommend the pasta.
I loved RPM Italian! We got eggplant parm, chicken parm, pasta and brussel sprouts! I enjoyed every bite. The service was great and I felt very safe eating there and our server was very kind. This is fairly dressy-lol- we came here after seeing the monuments. We were in jeans but were on the low end of the dress code
Spent three days in DC and ate here twice! The homemade pasta and sauce were amazing! Would definitely recommend. Also loved the GF eggplant parmigiana.
There is a limited selection of gluten free and dairy free, since the GF pasta has dairy. I had the whitefish and it was great, definitely was GF.
One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. Great gluten free selection, the food is fabulous and they took it seriously to ensure it was gluten free
Excellent service! The waitress made sure to tell the kitchen that I am celiac. I ordered the gluten free pasta and it was so delicious!! I felt very safe eating here and did not get sick at all. 10/10 recommend! Just ask your server about gluten free options and they can answer all questions!
Best GF Italian I've had in the US. They seem to take cross-contamination seriously and I've never gotten sick. The GF eggplant parm and GF short rib bolognese are my go-tos. Both look and taste like the gluten filled versions so it can be a bit of a leap of faith eating their food. I've gotten takeout many times and they're good about labeling the GF items as such. Based on my experience, I'd recommend for those with Celiac and gluten allergies. It's a very nice restaurant (and not cheap) so a good bet when you want a nice night out, perfect for significant celebrations, a nice date night, etc.
BY FAR THE BEST GF ITALIAN FOOD!! The GF pasta tastes amazing. The chicken & eggplant Parmesan are fried separately for the GF orders. Bolognese was also delicious. Staff was very knowledgeable and careful with my order. The entrees are huge but happy to take leftovers from here :).
RPM does have a gluten free menu and the waiter confirmed dishes could be made gluten free, however a few hours after leaving dinner I got so violently ill. I had Brussels sprouts and broccolini as a shared appetizer with coworkers and eggplant Parmesan as an entree. The wait staff also rushed us through the entire night. I definitely don’t trust or recommend that they are safe for celiac.
Waiter assured me all my food was gluten free after explaining to him that I was celiac. He then came to see if my pasta looked gluten free when it came out which left me with a bad feeling. I was violently sick for hours after leaving. I believe it was a wheat bowl of pasta I was given.
Excellent selections on a specifically GF menu, including homemade GF pasta. Didn’t get sick and it was so delicious! Service was top notch :)
Bartender was helpful; kitchen and staff were not. Served us really bad “GF pasta” but still got very sick. Charged us another tables’ $550 check in addition to our $150 and didn’t return the funds until I went to the CC company.
So yummy! And so safe. Dedicated fryer for the best gf chicken parm I’ve ever had
Excellent carbonara pasta dish. Portion is on the smaller side but still worth it. They assured me the meal was gluten free. I didn't get sick and if was delicious. I will be back!
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE CELIAC OR CANNOT EAT GLUTEN! I dined here on Saturday night and ended up not being able to eat anything. I brought my Nima gluten detector device and tested the spaghetti bolognese. The results came back positive for gluten so I talked to my waiter and the chef and they made the dish again with extra precaution. The second plate of spaghetti bolognse also came back positive. I decided to give up on pasta and ordered a plain salmon. That too came back positive for gluten. I ended up leaving hungry and very disappointed. I highly recommend not eating here if you are gluten free because it is not safe!
Server was amazing and so helpful with the GF options (and they had a lot of options)! They have fettuccine that they make in-house that tastes awesome. Food and service was impeccable.
They have an extensive GF menu. I ordered the gluten free lobster fra diavolo and had it delivered via grub hub. $46 plus delivery and tip turned into $64. Value for price, 0 stars. It’s a tiny little meal, the pasta broke when I tried to twirl it around my fork, the lobster was crunchy and didn’t seem properly cooked thru... and it was de-shelled but there was cartilage on/in more than piece. The sauce is NOT spicy, kinda looks and tastes like I imagine chef boyardee would taste? No salt pepper or real spice of any sort. Super disappointing. Safe and gluten free? TBD.
