Gf?? What a joke! I asked the manager today about how they prep the gf food. He told every thing, as in all the food, is prepared in the same area. No precautions against contamination. He looked at me like I was crazy for even asking. Oh and the cheese on the salad bar, the American/mozzarella combo, is prepackaged and has wheat flour on it to prevent sticking. I will never step foot in there again. Ever.
Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Restaurant was clean. Separate gluten-free menu. Burger on gluten-free bun was great. Substitute the fries as there is no dedicated fryer. Also, no gluten free desserts which accounts for the 4 stars. Otherwise, very good.
Best location of RT I’ve ever been to! Very accommodating. Server offered to bring me GF potato salad and anything else I wanted from the garden bar from the kitchen so, in her words, “it didn’t have any contact with other potentially harmful foods and they could use a clean surface and different cooking utensils.” Wow!!!! I nearly fell out of my chair! She let me tell her everything I wanted and they brought me two giant plates (see pics) and then I had one of my typical orders- chicken and baked potato. The chicken was cooked perfectly as was the potato! Great experience while traveling out of town!
Extremely safe restaurant! I’ve eaten there several times and (so far) have never been sick. Ask for their allergen menu and make sure you notify your waitress of being gluten free and everything will be ok.
We had a great experience at RT! I had called ahead to verify gluten free items would me made separately and was told yes. Our waitress was awesome and took my son’s GF card to the chef and returned it with no issues. My son ordered GF pasta with tomato basil sauce and he absolutely loved it and later a sundae. We had no issues! ❤️
If I could give zero stars I would. We sat at our table for 15 min before our server approached. Not knowledgeable AT ALL about GF. Went with the salad bar and ended up leaving 30 min in because my salad literally had clumps of dirt on it!! My table mates noticed the same thing and since our waiter had t brought drinks in 30 min, we left. Terrible experience!
The staff, I encountered did not seem familiar with their gluten free menu which turns out is only available on line. Once you wade through the menu, it is not that big of a deal. I am not confident the have a celiac safe prep area.
Neither the hostess or waiter were helpful. Told me all the info was on-line. Then several attempts to pull up gluten free list on line failed. Unless you are okay with just pick from the salad bar- don't go- they don't know anything nor do they care to assist you. There is no gluten free menu anymore
This has gone from a 5 star review to a 2, at best. First experience here was about 2 years ago and the manager cooked my food herself to ensure safety. Latest visits included very poor service, lack of knowledge, incorrect orders when food received and subsequently sick as a result. Two visits like this and we are pretty much done. Haven’t been back in a long time.
Just wish they still had dedicated fryer but still good burgers and other options for sides and have never had a problem there.
Less than 1star, a zero.The waitress and manager were not knowledgeable about gluten free options. My husbands food order was sent back before I even tried to order and therefore I had to sit and watch him eat. There " gluten free menu" is not accurate, it contradicted the Celiac website and my own personal knowledge of foods. I didn't eat!
Their allergen menu online is SO useful! I ordered a chicken sandwich and knew to ask for no sauce because it’s made with flour. Our food took a while to come out, and when she did bring it, she apologized for the wait and said it was because she had the cooks clean the grill. The fries aren’t safe for celiacs, though.
If I could give a 0 stars I would! The staff was EXTREMELY understaffed, our food was cold, my son's fries came out 10 minutes after the rest of our food and that was after a long wait for our food. I have a gluten allergy, told them this and the waiter assured me I had a gluten free bun; before we even left the restaurant I was throwing up! Will never go back or reccomend!
Save your money. Only gluten free items are pasta and hamburger bun. Our waitress forgot I was wheat allergic and served me a regular bun. She never told the chef either. I thought it was a gf bun and ate part of it. The itching started almost immediately. Today I am at work waiting for the digestive bomb to drop. :( They have no idea about the the effects of gluten on a non-gluten system. Stay away!
This was my first time their and I had gotten sick. I ordered from the gluten free menu and told the server it was an allergy, I think she had forgotten to put that in cause she was very forgetful and messed up on our order. I won't eat here again
The chain has a binder with special menus for various allergies, including gluten free. I ordered the blackened Tilapia, steamed broccoli, and a baked potato and it was all tasty. The staff was kind though did not seem knowledgeable beyond providing me the special menu. I feel good and would eat here again.
Our server did not find a gluten-free menu for us. We were having trouble with the online menu so we asked for a gluten-free Burger, and if fries or tater tots were gluten-free then please add those. She didn't verify anything with the kitchen and put in the order. We found online that the fries were not gluten free so to be safe we changed to side salad... she brought it out with croutons. She made no attempts to understand what we needed. She made no communication with the kitchen. And we felt like she was curt with all of our questions. 😳 She was a good server for filling drinks and clearing plates, but she wasnt accommodating to dietary questions or clarifying with the kitchen staff.
Servers and bartender did a great job of making sure my food was not only gluten free, and dairy free, but also seasoning free. They did an excellent job of checking with kitchen and manger to make sure it was done correctly. Manager even came by to double-check!
Restaurant does not have a gf menu per se but rather a binder with gf options listed. A bit confusing to go through. Wait staff are not educated and manager seemed clueless when I asked to double check whether an item listed on the gf menu is in fact gf. He actually told server that it's not. Very disappointed.
Staff was extremely kind and accommodating to our celiac needs. Careful with fried options, though. Didn’t seem to have a dedicated fryer. However, waiter and hostess were very helpful. Would have given it a fifth star if I knew it had a dedicated fryer and a dedicated prep area. Still good. Had a cheeseburger on a gluten-free roll and salad.
First off, I was very impressed with the restaurants allergen menu. It is very user friendly and has the option of choosing more than one allergy restriction. I had the Hickory Bourbon Salmon with asparagus. It was delicious however it was pricey at $21 excluding a drink other than water. Hubby complained that his grilled chicken tasted like fish. So, if you eat here you must like the taste of seafood. This is a definitely an option especially if you are traveling and want more than fast food.
The restaurant could not actually give me a Gluten Free menu so I had to find it online. Limited options. The food was okay but I went to a Ruby Tuesday in Hernando County and it was awesome. The service was fine and the food came out in a reasonable time. Prices are good.
As of today, no longer have gluten free bun option.
I was very impressed with the extensive gluten free menu binder. It made me feel safer about ordering. The waitress was very knowledgeable about allergies and gluten. They took all precautions to provide me safe food.
Staff was knowledgeable. They gave me a binder with all the allergen free items. Lots of gluten free items! I got the Hickory Bourbon chicken with a sweet potato and coleslaw. It was really good and I felt great after eating here.
Staff went to kitchen and made sure items were gluten free. Understanding there is always a risk of cross contamination it gives relief to have a staff member make the effort to double check. It shows me as the consumer that it is taken seriously. Be sure to ask questions about how the meal is prepared and if you aren’t comfortable with the answer do not eat at the restaurant. 5 stars because of the staff member’s efforts.
I went this past Wednesday and ordered the salad bar plus a side piece of grilled chicken. Well fast forward to 2 days later and I’m still sick. I’m guessing the chicken, although very good had some sort of seasoning or a dusting of flour on it. Even though you stress that you’re extremely allergic there’s never a guarantee.
