I asked for the allergen menu which was a list of things that **did** have gluten rather than the other way around. It was a little hard for me to wrap my brain around that. I would rather see what I can eat.
There were lots of options. Most the meat was okay (not pulled pork) and several of the sides (not creamed corn or the Cole slaw).
Then when I ordered, they started cutting up the meat before I could ask them to use a different cutting board and knife but they switched to a new board with a new chunk of meat. So as long as you are very clear that it needs to be gluten free I think it's okay. So I rated it celiac safe.
I felt like the food was just meat and potatoes. No veggies. So I felt a little off after. But it tasted good.
They have an allergen menu that tells what contains wheat/ gluten. They changed their utensils and when we asked about gloves, since they don't use any, put some on for ours. Lots of meat selection... the pulled pork isn't but all the other pork and beef is and honestly, those are the better meats anyways! They took their time with us and our questions despite how busy they were.
Amazing! A lot of the meat and sides are all GF. I ask them to cut the meat on a clean cutting board to avoid any CC. I always get the regular sausage and lean brisket with beans and potato salad. All BBQ sauce is GF but I get the tiny sealed ones instead of using the community bottles at the table. Great food and fun atmosphere.
Barbecue is pretty good. All the meats and sauces are gluten free. The only side I eat is potato salad and it is fairly tasty.
All of Rudy's meats and sauces are guaranteed gluten free. They have allergen information in the restaurant and online. I eat here often.
An allergen menu can be found online. All the meat except the pulled pork are gluten free. This location is very busy and the staff is young so they are not very knowledgeable about celiac and my specific needs. I understand there is a possibility of cross contamination; however, from what I could tell, there was a dedicated person for each type of meat and they would cut whatever the cashier called out so nothing was sitting for a long period of time. I got a brisket baked potato and asked for the BBQ sauce to-go which is prepackaged separately. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I did become sick after eating. This could have been from the onions at the shared condiment area, but I am not sure. If someone chooses to eat here I would exercise extreme caution.
Did not get glutened but that is about the only selling point for me. Meat was fatty and tough. Predominate flavor was smoky without anything else. Coleslaw was very bland. Creamed corn and beans were not great either. Was encouraged by the other ratings on here and it is safe to eat at but I was not a fan.
