Great find in Orange, CA! We had a great GF meal and it was all delicious and safe. None of us got sick! I would eat here again without hesitation. We had garlic chicken sandwich, the Heap, and old town club all on GF bread. Also the chili, Beth’s bowl and Cobb salad. The staff was so friendly, accommodating and very confident in doing things GF the right way.
I was able to get the garlic chicken sandwich on gluten free bread. It was AMAZING! I was concerned at first with how quickly the server took my order and noted the gluten allergy but I checked with him when he came back out and he showed me the ticket that said allergy and said that they get gluten allergies so often that it’s routine now. Amazing honestly! Great and quick service as well. Can’t wait to come back.
Favorite restaurant in Orange! Very accommodating and lots of gf choices!
Great outdoor patio, lots of gf items to choose from. It very chill. I eat here a couple times a month and have yet to be disappointed.
Delicious. I told the server I had celiac and was given separate gf menu. Many gf choices including salads, and Mexican food. They also has fresh juices. I had fresh carrot juice ( it helps my gluten symptoms as I was glutenized the night before) I had chicken twocos and one was filling! Did not get sick!!!
Great option for GF and nonGF alike. An amazingly large variety of GF options. Far beyond the usual boring GF fare and with extensive variety. Plus lots of creative salads, sandwiches, wraps and vegetarian favorites. Absolutely amazing GF monster cookie for dessert! I was surprised to see a large GF, dairy free (and lots of other free) cookbook on display right in the foyer. The group I came with was quite impressed with both food and service. Definitely a must try.
Ruta's is wonderful. It's good food, the service is great, and you will make friends with the people who work there; as sporadic of a customer as I am, the waitresses know me and we enjoy talking when I go in there. While they are very careful if you remember to tell them you're gluten free, their food does not always agree with me. I am extremely sensitive to oats, gluten free or not, and that's usually what gives me trouble. But their selection of gluten free foods will leave you happy.
I have eaten there several times in the last 4 months and have a wonderful experience. On their online menu, they label what is gluten free and when I ordered they clearly labeled my meal as gluten free. The staff was able to answer my questions.
For sides with wraps or sandwiches, they have a side of the day, which some are gluten free and some aren't, but they brought me extra fruit with it is pasta salad as the side.
I have had salads, wraps, and the enchiladas.
EDIT: This is the third time in a row I’ve had a dead insect in my salad. I wish it weren’t the case, but I just don’t feel that the kitchen is very sanitary. Won’t be returning.

I’ve always had good experiences here. The salads are great (and HUGE), and I’m a big fan of their soups.
I have eaten here before with no problems (that I can remember), but my last visit left me sick. I ordered the veggie enchiladas (clearly marked GF) and let the server know about my celiac disease. All though I trust the restaurant wanted to be careful, there was too much contamination. I won’t be going back :(
No specific gluten free menu. No GF options pointed out on their menu. But all it takes is a conversation with their staff to figure out options. Luckily I got a SUPER helpful and informed staff member (go Annie!) who was able to point me in the right direction and offer substitutes. I’m sure each visit will be different depending on who helps you. Best of luck!
