I’ve eaten here many times in the past. The Brazilian bowl is delicious, for those who aren’t celiac. For those who are, I encourage you to stay away from the establishment. Their website specifies they cannot guarantee against cross-contact and advises anyone with severe allergies/celiac to stay away.
There are lots of gluten free time listed but they don’t have an awareness nor prevent cross contamination. No separate cooking surfaces, no separate toasters. Waiters had poor awareness of what gluten actually was - thought it had something to do with soy. I had a untoasted GF muffin with cream cheese and was fine but that’s about all that’s available for celiacs. :(
So this review is a mixed bag! I'm a sensitive celiac and I've eaten there twice and not gotten glutened, but I ordered very carefully to try to get the plainest thing with least chance of cross contamination. And when I ate there yesterday, I asked about whether the plantains were fried in a shared frier, and the waiter said that they were but that the staff had been trained that the frier was hot enough to break down gluten molecules so that it wouldn't be a danger. The fact that management is training them with such wrong information was a big red flag for me - I would just say that if you eat here to take extra precaution.
I cannot select multiple tags of what is offered, but there is Gluten Free beer, bread, cider, pancakes, pasta, also vegan friendly.
Great place to have a gluten free, celiac meal. I usually get the loaded nachos and boy are they FILLING!
The gluten free pretzel is exactly what you expect and divine with the side sauces. They also just got a gluten free beer in their echo park and Culver City locations! Third Contact ipa is delicious and refreshing. They even use it in the coconut meat tacos.
This review is long overdue. I specifically told the waitress that I have an allergy, ordered the cauliflower and got sick. Turns out they share the fryer with donuts. Why bother making such great gf recipes and then sacrificing them for one item!?! Same deal at Pasadena location too. This was my family's favorite restaurant and we haven't been back. That is just too careless. I sent them a private message and they never even bothered to respond. So sad with so few options to go being gluten free/vegan.
Absolutely delicious. Fresh food and servings were perfect for our family of 3. Highly recommend. We are a family of many food allergies and celiac so this was a great place for my family to eat and not worry.
Since I have a lot of restrictions other than gluten, I was wary of going to a vegan place, but this one wasn't bad. Soy free, nut free and gluten free items were marked on the menu. A lot of different types of food- bowls, wraps, pasta, salad... I also got a chocolate shake made with kindcreme chocolate ice cream. Delicious! Kindcreme is made with coconut milk except for chocolate which was made with almond.
One of the best gf/vegan restaurants in the area. Sometimed there's a wait during busy dinner hours on weekends.
Delicious vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free items. Full dessert bar. Knowledgeable staff. GF pasta options. Healthy menu.
