Used to love this place before I was diagnosed as celiac, as their sushi and other offerings are fresh and delicious. However, just went there for lunch and told the waiter that I had celiac disease and couldn’t have anything with gluten. He didn’t seem very concerned, and when I asked if I could have the martini prawns, he assured me that I could. Well, that turned out to be a mistake – – I think they had some kind of batter on them and were deep fried. Needless to say, I got sick. However, I think if you’re very careful, you could find a number of rolls and other dishes that are safe, and they do have gluten-free tamari sauce. Just don’t trust your waiter to consider all the factors that go into a dish being truly gluten-free.
