They may have a good gluten free menu but the owner is really rude. If you are happy to be told that you won’t die from eating gluten, then go for it.
This a very good fish &chip shop, GF is always good, and quality.
My family had been here heaps, but my sister was recently diagnosed celiac and we went in to ask about how the gluten free menu is cooked (she gets really nervous about it) and the owner was incredibly rude. As a place that promotes itself as gluten free you’d think they would have even a little bit of compassion.
Had heard they had a dedicated gluten free fryer and a large gluten free menu so was excited to visit them. When I got there I let the man know I was coeliac. He was very quick to say “we have no guarantees it won’t be cross contaminated”. When I looked unsure he said “it won’t kill you though. I’ve never had any complaints”. I asked about whether separate instruments were used than the gluten area and he was very reluctant to discuss it, made out like I was making a big deal over nothing. Eventually his wife stepped into explain the process. I wouldn’t go back as his attitude was so poor.
