Ate their toast dish that said it was Gluten free and asked for the gluten free toast etc and they assured they also had a seperate toaster. But the server didn’t seem to know much.
Ended up feeling pretty uncomfortable when eating, definitely got glutened. Pretty disappointed after reading the good reviews.
This is a very modern café at the top of the Morningside Road. A fairly simple menu, this café concentrates on great ingredients. When I asked for gluten free I was told they could do all the right hand side of the menu. I had lentil soup and GF toast with Gouda cheese. The soup was delicious and the GF bread was the best I have ever had. Prices are not cheap, but that is expected at this location.
Great gluten free menu (I went for brunch). I had a full GF breakfast with black and white pudding, sausage and sourdough (sometimes gluteny items) with a few other things. Tastes great. They asked me when I ordered if I was coeliac (I didn’t have to prompt them) and I said yes.
No gluteny side effects. I normally feel quite tired after I eat gluten and sometimes get a rumbly tummy but I felt great. I’d say it’s pretty safe for coeliacs.
The perfect spot for gf brunch! Almost everything can be made gf, including eggs benedict, pancakes, and a full Scottish breakfast complete with gf blood pudding. They have a separate prep area and separate utensils for gf food prep. When I ordered, my waiter (who turned out to also be the owner) said "we love celiacs! We get loads of you here. We will take good care of you." Food is delicious and safe. Highly recommend!
Great gluten free options, staff very knowledgeable. All clearly marked.
