I ordered ribs with mashed potatoes and salad from their GF menu. The waitress was very helpful and checked on dressings for me.
This place is awesome. GLUTEN FREE Bread. The steak was delicious and the service was great.

I went on Christmas Day, and they were absolutely SLAMMED. I was given the GF menu and was pleasantly surprised by how many choices there were and how knowledgeable the bartender was on preparation protocols (it was to go). I’m very sensitive to cross contamination, but I never reacted. If they can pull it off with a 90 minute wait for a table, then I’m impressed!!!
There were many gluten free options, the wait staff was knowledgeable, and I was even offered gluten free bread (which was an udi’s bun). I had ribs and shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes and everything was very good. They also have tasty drinks and hard cider.
Celiac and must be very careful. The food was divine. I had fillet and they were out of garlic mashed so had baked which was Texas size fresh baked not in warmer for hours they felt badly out of mashed potatoes and insisted bring me a complimentary vegetable. Dinner also came with salad. I had the wedge WOW
There weren't a ton of options on the gf menu, but the food was good. The kitchen takes care to keep gf separate. They will bring out gf bread too. (It is a hamburger bun but still bread). The steaks are very good.
Very family friendly environment, the staff was very understanding and knowledgeable on my condition. They have a variety of options on the menu. The gluten free bread was amazing and delicious. I highly recommend this place as I had a half pound burger on the gluten free menu with a Caesar salad
They have a good selection of items on their gf menu. Be sure and ask for it, because it is a separate menu. Be sure you tell the wait staff you are eating gluten free. Never had trouble with anything there.
Saltgrass always takes special care to avoid cross-contamination. My wife has never had a negative reaction at any Saltgrass Steakhouse.
They were great! They had a gluten free menu and the staff was knowledgable and very helpful. I didn't get contaminated and I would definitely eat here again.
Good choices on gluten free menu and amazing burgers. Probably the best potato soup I've ever had, let alone, gluten free! I've never been cross contaminated here and I've eaten here quite often.
The food was good, enough choices. I even had the potato soup (nice and hot). I had a very pleasant experience!

Fantastic place to go! They had a gluten free menu that even told you how to order to make the necessary changes to order gluten free! Loved it!

Went to Saltgrass tonight for a special occasion. It was very disappointing. The GF bread is microwaved, so it was rubbery. We were left sitting for over half an hour and then they tried to deliver our meals even though we hadn't received our salads. Their answer? To bring our salads and leave our meals under the warmer. We refused this, as our medium rare steaks would have been ruined.
When our meals came, my ribeye was MAYBE 1/2" thick and literally had zero seasoning on it. It looked like a Denny's steak. Our server apologized and said they would re-make it. The manager brought my steak out....and it was the SAME STEAK I had sent back! I could tell because I had cut into it in a few spots before. She asked what was wrong and I had to inform her that it was now well-done and still not seasoned. It was only at this point that I was told that their 7 steak seasoning (which we use at home) isn't safe because the kitchen "adds to it".
I couldn't eat more than a few bites because it was so bad. It was a terrible meal and was certainly not worth $30-35 a plate! I cannot recommend this restaurant, unless you want a thin, tasteless steak and rubbery bread. It has really gone downhill.

They had a dedicated gluten free menu with plenty of options. I have a sensitivity, I do not have celiacs.
Had a menu but waitstaff totally not knowledgeable…asked if I wanted my shrimp grilled or fried…and if I wanted chocolate cake for dessert! just be prepared before going. Food was meh. Better steak houses all around.
The newly built Saltgrass restaurant is now open. It has a separate gluten free menu available, and has seafood and salad options for us pescatarians. We already checked it out and had dinner at the bar because it was so busy. The service was great, she knew what celiac was and made sure my food was safe. I didn’t get sick either. I’m glad there’s another option for GF foods in New Braunfels now.
