I love it here and have not had any issues with my food allergies (dairy, eggs, wheat and beef). I am ok with some cross-contamination and wouldn't suggest a celiac to go here, but I don't ever fill up on chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants. They don't have a separate fryer here so I just eat a few chips while waiting for food. The rice is DELICIOUS 🤤 and they've made me a chicken breast in a separate pan. I also enjoy their shredded chicken without issue!

San Jose has a nice interior and does a great, loud song for birthdays. However, they unfortunately have zero knowledge of what gluten is (told me rice and cheese are gluten.) Most of the servers don’t speak much English, so the language barrier makes it difficult to ask about allergy precautions. I had called before we went and was told that there is not a dedicated fryer and that all else is cooked on the same cook top. I had asked if they could grill a meal in a separate pan, which they had said yes to. I’m not confident that actually happened with my food even though I tried asking the server for a separate pan so am hoping I don’t have a reaction.
I will never go back and hope I can help prevent anyone else having the same experience.
