I ordered a steak and it was great tasting. I asked before I ordered if it was gluten free. The helpful waitress went to ask and came back and said the label on the seasoning tore off and they couldn’t be for sure. They were willing to cook one with salt and pepper only. But she said her sisters kid was celiac and he ate them all the time with no problems. I said that’s good enough for me. Half way through the meal, my symptoms set in and I have to find the bathroom. I should have opted for the salt and pepper. I’m still new to being GF so I didn’t press the need for it to be safe. I’m learning....Santa Fe has no GF menu which should be a red flag if you are gluten sensitive.
Great service. Kitchen manager came out and spoke with us, letting us know what he could fix us and how he could keep it safe. Even cut new veggies for me. Food was delicious! They DO NOT have a GF menu but go above what many others do to make it safe!
They did not have a allergen menu....however, we had a wonderful server who went above and beyond to make sure my food was prepared with no cross contamination. I had chopped sirloin with sautéed onions (only salt and pepper) and a baked potato. Overall a good experience and I did not get sick! So, that is a win!
I gave this 5 stars because the food was very good--my husband was quite pleased because his steak was amazing and cooked to the correct medium rare temperature. I do want to advise that this restaurant DOES NOT HAVE A GF MENU as stated. We were very careful in ordering and the server was helpful, but they weren't sure about a lot of ingredients. We ordered very simply, with no seasonings other than S&P so we could be sure to avoid gluten. Bottom line...great restaurant but limited safe choices and no gf menu.
Meh. This location doesn't have a gf menu, and the primary spice rub that they put on practically everything has gluten. Do not recommend. The good point is that the manager made a real effort to help. (Location is in Troy, GA)
Santa Fe has a great gluten-free menu. We went there and I asked for a gluten-free menu. It took about 5 minutes to get it, but the food was great and I didn't get sick. They need to have a gluten-free menu on their website so that people on allergen diets can know before hand about the food. That's the only turn-off is a restaurant offering gluten-free food, but the restaurant doesn't have a gluten-free menu on the website.
Just tried to eat here. Be wary, 3 greeters were clueless about GF & whether they had a menu or not. Tried to find manager never surfaced, went to seat us but table was already taken & when they went to find us another table we got the shove off as they sat others who were coming in after us. Needless to say we took this an omen & left. Went to Chick fil a down the way, yeah!
Called ahead before eating here and manager assured me they use clean, dedicated kitchenware to prepare gluten free meals. Explained to the server that I have a food allergy. Ordered from the gluten free menu and did not get sick.
