My celiac son and I enjoyed the juicy burgers, side of chicken tenders, and vanilla milkshake. If fried comfort is what you’re after, this is a good and fast option. I appreciated that the farm source of the hamburger was mentioned on the menu board. And seriously, gf chicken tenders? Crispy fried comfort goodness.
This was the perfect place for my celiac daughter and I to grab food after ice skating. I had an impossible burger in a GF roll and my daughter had chicken fingers and fries. My bun was crumbly but the burger as a whole was very tasty. The chicken fingers were very juicy and the fries were yummy. Would definitely go back!!
I told them I have celiac & double checked what was gluten free, whether they had cross contamination procedures, a designated fryer — all good. However, they didn’t note the allergy on my order & the guy preparing food never changed gloves between prepping normal burgers (with gluten buns) & the gf food. I saw him set bread down & then grab gf fries & tenders with that same hand to then serve to me. I’m not planning on returning & I wouldn’t recommend ordering takeout since there’s no way to confirm your food would be safe. If you need to eat here, watch them prep your food like a hawk to make sure you won’t get sick. (But food for thought — even if they change gloves to grab your fries/tenders, chances are they grabbed every previous order from the same fry/tender pile with gluten-covered gloves so still might not be safe). Wouldn’t recommend for celiacs.
Had a good experience! Felt fine afterwards. I was especially worried since the chicken is made with buttermilk and I’m lactose intolerant, but was okay after even with that! A little pricey, but good portion size. I got chicken and fries. Would definitely get again. Don’t recommend buying a fountain drink though, it was $4!
Grabbed a quick lunch here before continuing uptown. They advertise the chicken fingers and fries as gluten free and also have gf buns for burgers. My chicken fingers were good and I felt fine after, but I’m not convinced they really keep any cross contamination protocols. I think the chicken just happens to be gluten free and the fries are cooked separate from gluten foods, but I saw a server prepare chicken fingers after also plating a grilled cheese. They were on separate trays, so some points there, but no change of gloves or awareness of what was being touched. If you are super sensitive, I’d either avoid or talk to the person at the end of the line that prepares the food (it’s a counter service type place, so skip talking to the order taker and walk to the pickup spot). There is another location in midtown that gets a ton of better reviews, so maybe that location is setup different. Anyway, 3 stars for options and tasty fast food, but two lost for loose handling protocols.
I got chicken tenders and fries! Very yummy! Went with 2 other friends- me and 1 other received our food very fast, but another friend didn't receive their food. When they asked where it was, the staff claimed that they were already served. They were very rude and almost didn't serve my friend. Food was good, but nasty employees.
