Had lunch at the place. No separate GF menu, but did have gluten free bread. No GF Pasta and no separate fryer so most of the menu is off limits. But, plenty of options, and knowledgeable waiting staff so was a good experience. Food is tasty!
There is no gf menu. Although the hostess was discouraging about eating gf, the waiter was very knowledgeable and told me they can make most things gf. My vegan Buddha Bowl was made gf by not including the teriyaki rice. There was still quinoa, cucumber, grape tomatoes, pickled onion, avocado, fennel, and grilled pineapple. Delicious!
I have been to this restaurant a couple of years ago and had the gluten free clam chowder so when I came back to Monterey I wanted to eat here. Will skip it next time said the clam chowder was not gluten free and had very little options for me. When you go to a nicer restaurant usually they are better at gluten free.
Expensive but good view and food. Server was knowledgable about gluten free options and brought us out some gluten free bread. We had the salt spring island mussels and the cioppino with no reaction. They have one desert which is a strawberry custard. Worth a try if you’ve never been.
We had a reservation for a special occasion dinner booked a week in advance and we were extremely disappointed in the service. It was too loud for us to hear each other or hear the server even though we were seated at a small table. No great views. We tried to get another table and they couldn’t change. The servers were extremely hard to communicate with. They kept forgetting that two of us were gluten free. The table was way too small. They have gluten free bread but it took a long time to get it. Then they looked at us like we were crazy when we asked to split the check even though it was obvious there were two parties. The challenge with communication made me think this is not the place for someone with Celiacs. We had breakfast the next morning and again our server couldn’t communicate with us. My omelet got made with jack cheese when I ordered goat and it had to be remade. There was a wait for the gluten free toast. The server brought us soy milk when we asked for almond milk. Avoid if you have food intolerances. The Morning Dove is nearby and is 100%gluten free. We had breakfast there the next day and it was awesome.
not sure why this is getting such good reviews. stayed here for a conference and while the hotel rooms were very comfortable the restaurant was disappointing, serving bland food and staff had zero awareness of gluten free options. no gf menu, no alergy indications on the menu. definitely not celiac friendly, when asked for a gf menu we were laughed at. this review reflects two meals breakfast and late lunch.
Gluten free clam chowder was delish. Awesome view of the bay and they even brought us blankets when it got a little chilly out.
the ambience was excellent and the staff was impeccably attentive! The clam chowder was the best I've had since I was diagnosed. the gluten-free bread was what I found typically elsewhere but at least they had it. Very very happy with my dinner.
Note that gf clam chowder is only available for dinner. Makes for a disappointing lunch if you go and they don't have it.
Totally worth a visit! My husband and I had breakfast there. They do not offer a "gluten-free menu" but the majority of the breakfast menu is gluten-free. I had the Vegetable Scramble and my husband had Steak, Eggs and Hashbrowns. We were served gluten-free toast which was prepared in an oven so as to avoid cross contamination. It's been an hour and I am not sick. Typically I am having symptoms within 15 minutes.

We really enjoyed our meal at this high-end waterfront restaurant at our hotel. Menu items were marked with an asteric if they could be made gluten-free. Plenty of choices. I had steak and angry prawns - delicious and sauces were amazing.my husband loved the tuna poke (not gf). Aquarium certified seafood.
