There only GF options for dessert is are -GF canolli WITHOUT shell or -fruit Seriously, they aren't trying for desert. Also menu flagged as "gluten-sensitive"...
Lisa-had a fairly good selection on their gf menu. Unable to get sauces on entrees but food was good and our waitress seemed knowledgable. I had the pork tenderloin no sauce and it was very good.
The food is safe, but portions are very small and I feel as though the menu is overpriced. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't go back.
Food was delicious. Our waiter, Brian, was extremely sensitive to concerns regarding foods and potential reactions. Food choices for celiac were limited and no gluten-free beers available... but plenty of wine options and the fresh fish was delicious with veggies and roasted potatoes.
Fantastic food with excellent service
Safe meal, but I did not enjoy myself here. I don't like legalistic adherence to the words "Gluten Sensitive" as opposed to "Gluten Free." My meal was handed to me as "gluten sensitive chicken." LOL. My guests, who eat "normal" food, were underwhelmed by the amount and quality of their dinners. Food took 45 minutes to come out. Normally I'm not picky when restaurants make an effort to accommodate me safely, but the attitude felt grudging, the food was mediocre for the up-scale marketing, and the bill was too high for what we were served.
Food was at least 4 stars (slightly too salty in my opinion), but the service was awful. She only checked in on us once, never asked if we needed refills. We waited for 20 plus mins after finishing our meal for our waitress (finally flagged down another waiter). Then noticed an error on the bill, 10 minutes of looking for waitress again, and the manager came and fixed the bill and gave us a coupon for free apps. Sigh. The sweet potato mash was quite tasty.
Had the most delicious, safe meal here! GF flatbreads are yum and every entree on the GF menu is a winner. Perfect spot for a nicer night out to dinner
The food was great. HOWEVER I did get glutened there tonight. As I am keeled over the toilet I am sure it was from the flat bread pizza which they claimed was gluten free however failed to mention that the "special tin" they cook it in is exposed to the rest of the oven where they cook wheat pizza. So basically I'm screwed for tonight. Don't eat the flat bread pizza if u are celiac
First and last time we go here! Separate gluten "sensitive" menu listing items prepared without gluten provided. Waitress very knowledgeable and kind. Checked with chef to ensure items ordered were gluten free or modified to be gluten free but... kitchen still managed to gluten me somehow. Almost $200 for dinner, after dinner plans canceled, home puking. Thanks Seasons 52 for a horrific and memorable evening.
I called ahead to see if they could keep a celiac safe, and the hostess told me they take food allergies seriously. They definitely do! Her mother has celiac disease so she knew what I needed. She asked what time I wanted a reservation so that she could let the chef know. When we arrived, it was already noted in the system I was a celiac, and the chef was notified I was there. When the waitress showed up at the table, she was already aware there was a celiac at the table, and told me how my food would be handled. Excellent food! Excellent service! I have never felt so at ease eating out. The GF menu has a variety of food to choose from. It was really hard to pick! I had a flatbread appetizer offered in a GF version and it was excellent along with the salad that I picked. I wish this restaurant was in my home town.
The server was caught in a lie, swearing my GF flatbread meal was GF. She "swore" (her word) she watched the kitchen make it. I asked to see the ticket. Asked her why the order didn't specify GF or the $2 GF charge. She said it was my lucky day, she wouldn't correct that charge. Manager saw the interaction and came over after this went on for minuets. Thankfully SHE was honest. She took one look and said my order was actually not GF! I would have been sick for days. I can never trust Seasons 52 again. I previously loved their GF offerings.
Wonderful food! Dedicated gluten-free menu, and they will prepare a gluten-free dessert! Great atmosphere and service.
The waitress rolled her eyes when I asked about kitchen segregation, I said 'I'm sorry, I just need to be careful - I get really sick." She gave the "we deal with PLENTY of food allergies.." If I had a dollar for every time I got that kind of response and then had problems... So I ordered a salad.
They have an entire gluten-free menu. But there's no need to feel it's your only choice. On the night we ate there, their featured dish was gluten-free. Plus, if you're into flatbreads, they have a yummy gluten-free crust that can be pared with any of their versions.
Food was yummy, waiter was friendly but even though I questioned him on everything, especially when he said he could add chicken to my salad, I STILL GOT SICK! I told him to please triple check and make sure the chicken wasn't marinated. If it wasn't, go ahead and add it to my salad. So when I got it, I figured I was ok. Ha! Plus they added $6.50 to my $10 salad for chicken! It's 3 days later and I'm still recovering.
It made me a little nervous to see "gluten sensitive" as I have celiacs and am highly sensitive. However, the server was very patient and went back to speak to the kitchen. They ensured me the flatbread was made all separate and it was AMAZING!! My husband and I split 2 and he said he couldn't believe it was gluten free. The service was implacable and the food delicious. Highly recommend. Will be back.
Seasons 52 has an extensive gluten-free menu. For appetizers the restaurant offers flat breads on a gluten free dough. Entrees include fish, lamb, and chicken. If you want steak, the chef can prepare a steak without the sauce. The dessert menu has a gluten free cannoli without the crust.
They don't have a separate menu, but the chef came out to have a conversation with me and then went to his kitchen and created a wonderful meal that accommodated multiple food sensitivities.
Very gourmet options on the dedicated gluten free menu. The restaurant is very large with separate dining rooms in the back that can be closed off for private parties. Our server, Philip, was efficient, attentive and helpful with regard to gluten free options. The food was very good. My husband, not gluten free, was very impressed too. He and I shared a flatbread. He plans to come back when in the area on business.
Disorganized place that is okay for a gluten allergy but not a combination of different allergies. For instance, I have a dairy and gluten intolerance. When we spoke on the phone they informed me that they could accommodate me. Unfortunately, they presented me a flatbread that they claimed was df (and gf) and had sour cream. It was only after I took a bite that I realized it wasn't. The manager was extremely rude and did not apologize, rather she blamed the server who couldn't do enough to help me. She did not seem like she wanted to help. My final meal was safe and tasted good. They say that they can make almost any dish gluten and dairy free. However, I would be willing to try another location but I will not be returning back, to Burlington's, for a while due to a fear that my food might not be okay for me to eat what they serve me.
Food was great, willing to make food however I wanted it to be done, be that gluten and or dairy free. Just let the waitress or waiter know and you will be in good hands. Food is pricey but fresh and it's worth it. All the employees seemed very nice as well.
Went here for dinner tonight. The waitress was very knowledgeable and when my food was brought out they also knew it was gluten free. Going on 30 minutes with no pain, so I'm going with a very safe review! Delicious and my boyfriend who's not GF loved his meal!
I've been here 5 times and it's been great each time. They have a seasonal menu that changes with the seasons and the gluten free menu changes as well. The watermelon salad on the summer menu is amazing. I had wanted a side dish that was a special on the regular menu and the chef found a way to prepare it gluten free for me. I've always had great service here.
Sunday 6/5 I had a nice meal with my husband at Seasons 52 in Birmingham. We chose this restaurant specifically for it’s gluten sensitive menu, as I have celiac disease. Upon meeting our waitress I let her know that I have celiac disease (and explained what I couldn’t have), I already had the gluten sensitive menu in my hand.We ordered the Ahi Tuna Tartare. While ordering, I asked about the crisp that comes with it. The waitress told me that the crisp was gluten sensitive but that it was not gluten free. She said that nothing in the restaurant is gluten free. (I made the mistake of not pursuing this further, and will be instead asking questions to corporate to clarify this issue.) Since she stated that the crisp is not in-fact gluten free, I asked for the crisp on the side, so my husband could have it, but not potentially cross-contaminate me.The Ahi Tartare was great, love it.I also enjoyed the shrimp and grits (gluten sensitive menu also).When the check came, we were charged an upcharge for the gluten sensitive crisp, which I couldn’t even eat. The gluten sensitive menu has many options. I’m very happy to have it.My issue with this restaurant is the unsureness of the gluten free status of the food. Apparently, there is no gluten ingredients used. However, the waitress said there is no gluten free food. Which is it? As a celiac, I need to know if this restaurant is safe toeat at. I hope that corporate will respond to me and I’ll be able to update this review.
Miserable fail at this restaurant. They have a gluten sensitive menu and it is essentially parts of the regular menu and it tells you how to order it to be gluten free. For example: soup (order without the roll). I ordered pork loin without the au jus. Plate came with au jus all over it. Server from the kitchen had no idea if plate was gluten free. Waiter came over and took plate back to the kitchen. Apparently the chef felt bad that I couldn't have au jus and took it upon herself to make gluten free au jus unbeknownst to anyone else. The waiter wrote on the ticket NO au jus. No one was quite sure if I could eat it or not. I completely lost trust in their system and watched my husband eat his dinner instead. Manager came over and agreed that protocol was not followed and she was unclear why. Would not trust to order there again.
