Valid for (brownies, cupcakes, cookies, or muffins)
We ordered our allergen-friendly wedding cake (a 6" round cake for us and a large sheet cake for our guests) and could not have been happier. From the cake tasting to the ordering of the cake to the actual taste of the cake, everything was perfect. So many of our guests remarked how delicious the cake was. We also love their other treats--seriously, the strawberry cupcakes are ridiculously good--and stop by any time we are in the area. We LOVE Sensitive Sweets!
So sad to give this place a bad review. Is this bakery celiac safe?? YES!!!! So what’s the problem?? Um everything lacks flavor or is straight up gross. It’s really disappointing especially after trying out other 100% gluten free bakeries that are so good you can’t even tell it’s gluten free. I would recommend ordering on-line from another bakery rather than coming here.
EXCELLENT!! Everytime I am in the area I stop by and buy waaaaay too much (is there such a thing?) This place also has the most beautiful wedding cakes. Try mocha or red velvet cupcakes. Also a big fan of their donuts (kind of pumpkiny) and remedy bar. <3 LOVE LOVE LOVE
They list all their ingredients, which make it super easy for those of us with multiple allergies. They had a special chocolate raspberry cupcake for the holiday and it was amazing. The strawberry lemonade was good, but not to die for. The guy at the register went above and beyond to help me figure out things I could eat. Overall, an easy and good place to get sweets.
Totally celiac friendly... but It’s 2018 stop making GF stuff that tastes like the cardboard box it came out of. ..Been trying this place randomly for years and it keeps getting worse?? I bake wayyyyyy better and tastier than this place. I actually threw out their holiday platter after trying a bite of each. Just don’t bother here. 🤢🤢
We love this place! We always come here when we are in town. I wish we had one closer to us honestly. My kids are just obsessed with the donuts and cookies. I will admit the pumpkin cupcakes are completely irresistible! Every time I cannot eat just one ;) my hubby who is extremely "picky" he is addicted to the lemon bars. Where I love the lemon cupcakes. The frosting is a tad sugary which I am not totally in love with however they do have no frosted cupcakes for this solution. The sugar cookies usually have some that are frosted all adorable with character faces and holidays. My kids just love these! I would give it more stars if I could! Sensitive sweets, thank you for making such a wonderful place so everyone can have a delicious treat! You make our vacations much sweeter!! Thanks!!
I am amazed at the high ratings this establishment has gotten. I'd give it an even lower score, but my son liked a couple of their products, and they're a reliable source of safe baked goods in a pinch. However, most of the products I've tried have been very bland and/or odd tasting. Their cupcakes have a weird, chewy texture. I agree with other posters that unless you're 'allergic to everything,' I wouldn't recommend this place. There are much tastier options for gluten (and dairy)-free.
Excellent baked goods. If you get lucky and they have sundried tomato rolls get them and you can freeze for later...delicious. Truffles are great and my son loves their cake push pops. I freeze them and we always have cake for him if a party unexpectedly comes up. All the kids are jealous because the look (and are) so good. Downside is it's quite pricey, but we are happy to have this completely allergy-free bakery at all!
The desserts that we got here were good for being GF, DF, NF, EF, CF, and SF. That being said, if you aren't allergic to everything, there are better options. The cookie dough truffle was very good, but that is the only good item that I tasted. The dough used in the pastries is really bland, and the only flavor of any kind comes from the icing. I wouldn't recommend this bakery unless you have tons of allergies or dietary restrictions. Or unless you want a cookie dough truffle.
Sensitive Sweets is located in Fountain Valley, California, not too far from Disneyland. I actually can’t go to Disneyland anymore without stopping there to pick up some sweets first. I have a major sweet tooth and Sensitive Sweets has several gluten free and vegan options. I am also grateful to Melanie Hohman for offering shipping on Sensitive Sweets website online for many of their yummy items.
I can't believe this place is gluten free but I am soooo thankful. The chocolate cupcakes are the best as is the pizza dough, which sells out fast so I'd recommend calling first to check availability. I've tried other GF pizza doughs which tend to be either dense or flatbread style and this dough is neither.
Uh-mazing!!!! Love the staff. I have been so sad for months bc of having to go gluten free and dairy free for health reasons! I went all through the holidays with no treats ;( I am so beyond excited this place exists for people like myself and countless others loving in fear of cross contamination and not knowing how to make yourself yummy cakes and cookies without traditional boxed cake mixes etc...thank you sensitive sweets for making me feel like a real human being again! Finally I get to enjoy a cupcake just like everyone else! Love love love everything I've had here...sugar cookies - lemon cupcake - mini donuts and brownies! 5 starts for sure! Worth every penny to feel "normal" and I haven't found another place free of everything!!!
I found the bakery to be VERY expensive. I'm pretty sure I paid $9 for a loaf of bread. I bought a specialty bread - cinnamon bread (if I recall). It was okay toasted. I also bought cupcakes. I found the cupcakes to be dry and the frosting to taste like lard or Crisco. Not impressed with this bakery. They also over charged me and I had to go back to get my money back, and both wound up on my credit card for a few days, but then worked out.
I would give the loaf of bread here 5 stars without a doubt, but not everything else lives up to the standard set by the bread. I mean, all the other things I've tried have been really good, but some have an aftertaste. It is a great feeling, though, to walk in to a bakery & have so many options & not have to worry about cross-contamination! And everyone who works there is really nice--an added bonus.
My hubby got me a birthday cake from here. Nobody liked it, nobody finished their piece. It was SO heavy, the waitress could barely carry it (he brought it to my party on a cruise). That vegan frosting is awful. I'm celiac. Gluten free stuff takes enough adjusting from tastebuds, real frosting is something I've learned to appreciate (before diagnosis when I ate gluten, I didn't like frosting). Go get a gf Bundt cake instead or just buy a box mix.
I really really wanted to love this place but was pretty disappointed. The savory items were okay, but all of the sweets I tried were totally bland and the only flavor came from the icing. Maybe because the ingredients are so limited to cater to all good sensitivities?I've had much better from gf bakeries in other areas and was hoping for the same. The sugar cookie was one thing that was okay. Maybe I'll try again after a while to see if it gets any better.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS NEW BAKERY!!! ITS RIGHT UPO THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE SO I CAN WALK THERE AND ENJOY MY DELICIOUS HEALTHY TREATS!!!! I BELIEVE THE LOVLEY AND SWEET GIRL THERE IS STACIE -- SHE EVEN KEPT THE PLACE OPEN FOR ME WHEN I WAS NOT GOING TO GET THERE BEFORE CLOSING. THANKS!! GLAD YOUR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD :)
