Absolutely incredible! I have severe celiac and a gluten allergy so I can get sick very easy. When I walk in and tell them I have an allergy, I don’t even have to explain to them to change their gloves, cutting board, and cutting tools. They do it already! I have never been sick from here. Incredible experience and would recommend!

What lovely people! I got ribs, chopped beef, brisket, and turkey and I could eat it all! They wiped down the prep station and everyone put on new gloves!

All smoked meats are gluten-free
They didn’t seem too confident on what was gf or not because they said their Mac and cheese was gf and I questioned them and then they said it’s not. All of their meat is supposed to be gf so I got the chicken and the nima came back with a :). I didn’t get sick and their bbq sauce that they sell is gf.

I have eaten here a few times and they have incredible brisket. I didn’t try any of the sides this last time. All the meat, sauces and dry rub are gf.

All of the meats are gluten free but there is some risk of cross contamination. They do a good job to minimize risk.
Some staff know about celiac some don’t (usually be a they are new). I always clarify what I need them to do like new gloves, cutting board, and knife. The turkey and cherry chipotle salsa are my favorite!
I am a local and have not gotten sick from them.

The staff were all very friendly and willing to go out of their way to check on any gluten ingredients, which was really nice. The food was fine and the menu was interesting (BBQ nachos? Yes, please!), but wasn’t anything outstanding. Of all the GF options in Durango, this seems like one of the best.

Everything but the bread, flour tortillas, and pies are gluten free. The changed gloves, cutting boards, knives. Got sampler and large pinto bean and cheesy potato sides. This feed us 3 times. Sides are amazing. All the meat was good. We’d go back over and over.

Good, safe gf food. Great service and very cooperative!
I ate here twice when visiting, and loved the pork and cheese potatoes.
Yes
Staff will switch knife gloves and cutting board if asked. The only think that has gluten is the bread a d tortillas which are handled away from the meat and sides... 4 stars as food is just ok.
Yes
If you have an actual allergy do not come here. While some of the food is gluten free the staff has zero clue about cross contamination. Came excited for BBQ. Left with an empty stomach and sad face.
No
The ribs here are really good! They were not very busy when I went and were good about putting the bread separate for my husband.
Yes
Serious has major CC issues with their bread. They make someone a sandwich, grab the bread and then the meat causing CC. I wish they were better educated and used utensils for all meat along with keeping the bread in a seperate area. I always get sick after eating there. So bummed!
Meats, sauce, cheesy potatoes are GF. The "Texas Taco" served in a large cup is a filling tasty meal all by itself. Add onions and jalapenos for more zip.
We eat Serious Texas at least twice a month. If you like Austin’s Terry Blacks bbq, you’ll love Serious TX. Everything is mouthwatering! Try the platter for nice sampling. Their nacho chips used to be GF but no one can confirm if they still are gf so ask. Enjoy!

They staff that made my order asked if I wanted them to change thier gloves as soon as I said I have a gluten allergy. Which I thought was great because I'm new to this and forget about that

Amazing!! So much of the menu can be a gluten free meal. I had the pulled pork stuffed baked potato and it was so good. I mentioned I had a gluten allergy and right away the girl that was making my order started telling me all the precautions they were taking. I didn’t even have to ask she just knew what to do right away! They even substituted shredded cheese for the queso because I do not like queso. She seemed happy to help and was not annoyed by my requests. Will definitely come back every time I am in the area!
