When I mentioned celiac, the waitress called over the manager to take my order. I had no issues with the Cobb salad, but there weren’t a lot of safe options.

Items are marked as GF on the menu BUT in many cases it means there is a GF option for the dish. Be sure to tell your waiter or waitress that you need to eat GF. They've always been able to explain the options easily. I can't have a couple of the items marked GF due to cross-contamination but I still have a few options with decent variety. Nice sunset views on the bay. Oh, and they are dog friendly and will happy bring you a water bowl. They even have two or three menu items for your pup.

came here bc of the large gluten free options but once i got here I was told by the waitress that everything is fried in the same fryer, therefore not gluten free or celiac friendly :( the staff is very knowledgeable and kind but the menu is miss leading

Great experience, service and food. Andrea waited on us and she was very knowledgeable about GF options. Two of our kids have celiac and they had great GF meals.

I was really disappointed. I saw all the great reviews on here and arrived only to be told they no longer have a designated gf menu and their gf marked items aren’t actually gf because they share fryers. So the nachos, sweet potato fries, chips for the dips…. Everything basically is now cross contaminated.

This place was great! When we first drove in, they had a pride flag out which was what initially drew us in. Then we found out they have a lot of GF options with appetizers and entrees. They even ring the meals up under “gluten free” so the kitchen staff can take extra precautions. The staff and atmosphere were phenomenal as well. Highly recommend!

The staff seemed overwhelmed to begin with and that just got worse as we moved from the 4 o'clock hour and into the five as more dinner guests arrived. Took about 15 min for our waiter to talk to us, not to mention the hostess wouldn't put us at a shaded table even though they were available. The online menu and the physical menu didn't match. They do have clearly labeled GF items, but since the menus didn't match and the atmosphere seemed disorganized, I was nervous about ordering due to my Celiac. However, sometimes you gotta take the leap. I asked the waitress about the soy glaze on the Ahi Tina dinner (labeled GF). She said, uh, yeah, if soy sauce isn't usually gluten free, then I wouldn't order that. I asked if she could check with the kitchen. She did and informed me that the meal could be made GF by leaving off all sauces and glazes. She was very friendly but GF clueless. I ordered sans condiments. The coconut rice was actually delicious but the rest was bland since there was absolutely no flavor. I asked for some oil and vinegar and she was so confused. In the end I did end up with slight sickness, probably due to cross contamination. Don't go. It's a mess.

Boiled Shrimp with corn, sausage and potatoes was delicious. They have gluten free options clearly marked and staff is knowledgeable. Chips, salsa and quest are a good app as well.

I didn’t think this place would be as great as they were. Our server was knowledgeable and also a celiac so she directed us well on what to eat/avoid. We just sat and ate chips/salsa/queso and had drinks! But there were a ton of options here.

Lots of options- make sure you tell waiters because they have to modify to make it gf. Ordered nachos they were supposed to leave off the sauce that had gluten- but accidentally brought it out with the sauce. Luckily we caught it, but had to really pay attention. My son did love this place though, his favorite for our vacation.

I hadn’t been here in a couple of years, but remembered they had an extensive gluten-free menu. I was not disappointed. Lots of selections, servers who understood celiac and cross-contamination, and even had two managers come to the table to confirm that they spoke with the kitchen and the food would be safe.

Tarter sauce was listed on their gluten free menu and when asked about it the server told me it actually did! That only their ranch was gluten free.
Ended up getting plain steamed shrimp and veggies and they had zero flavor.

The staff was great. I am celiac and the manager came out to explain their policy. My wife and I only stopped in for a drink (dark and stormy) and an appetizer (chips and dip). It was a great experience. I attached the gluten free menu as well.
Large gluten free menu. The Manager came to check that we were comfortable with the food. We had oysters, salad and nachos and it was all delicious.
Yes
Worst "gluten free" experience. Ordered from the gluten free menu was brought fried shrimp on top of my oysters. With bread on the side of my plate. Waitress took it back and the manager brought it back out. I could tell that all they did was peel the fried shrimp off and toss grilled ones on. When I picked up the grilled shrimp there was still reading stuck on the cheese. The kitchen also sent me 2 orders of sweet potato fries. The second came after we asked for our bill. This place is a mess.

We sat waiting for two and a half hours for a seat and our waitress who was the supervisor. She was horrible. The appetizers were cold and my boyfriends raw oysters were hot. We followed the flow of people just walking out after watching the kitchen crew fist fight with each other. Horrible experience. If you want a true shaggy experience go to the one in Biloxi Mississippi. The shaggys here in Pensacola needs better management. Sorry it makes me give them a star to leave a comment, they don't deserve that much.

NOT Celiac friendly! They have a gluten free menu but they use the same cook tops and surfaces. Do not go here if you are Celiac!
No
Separate gluten free menu with lots of options. Food was great and service good.
Yes
They do have a GF menu here, but I'm not sure it's Celiac safe. The food was just okay. :-/
It was so nice to have gluten-free options. The staff was nice & helpful, not to mention the food was good. I look forward to going back.

One of the worst GF meals I’ve ever had. Almost everything on the menu that is marked GS is cooked in a shared fryer. The corn shell for the tacos was hard flat and chewy. Inedible. Staff thought they were knowledgeable but when the manager came out to double check the order we had to change everything. Left hungry.

Fun beachy vibe. Gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu. I had chips and salsa and shrimp tacos, which came with more chips. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was just ok but beautiful beach and sunset views.

An enjoyable meal in a fun, beachy atmosphere with large windows, overseeing the gulf. Craig, the manager, assured us they accommodate gluten free diners often and have their kitchen staff change gloves and utensils to prevent cross contact with any gluten-containing foods. He even had the cooks make my Bahama Grilled mahi-mahi without oil. The peel-n-eat royal reds made for a greater starter for a shrimp-lover like me. The Southwestern Bowl had tender grilled chicken. I’ll be back!

Shaggy’s is amazing when it comes to eating gluten free. I’ve had several managers come to our table to specifically make sure I am comfortable and am ordering safe foods and drinks. The wait staff is very knowledgeable. The food is amazing!
