REGARDLESS OF WHAT ALL THESE IGNORANT CELIACS SAY. THE FRIES ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE. THE NACHO CHIPS ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE EITHER. ANYTHING FRIED IS NOT GLUTEN FREE HERE. THEY CHANGE OIL IN THE MORNING BUT THE CONTAMINATION FROM THE PREVIOUS OIL IS FILETED THROUGH THE SAME SYSTEM AND RECYCLED. DO NOT EAT ANY FRIED FOOD HERE. SMH.

Very friendly and knowledgeable server and floor manager. My celiac son had the ribs and shared nachos. Yes, a shared fryer but they empty and clean the fryer each night and cook the nachos first thing in the morning. GF menu but not intended for celiacs. It was so nice to continue our beach and dinner day tradition with ease!

Server, Dawn was amazingly knowledgeable. I have multiple allergies and she was able to walk me through the menu on all of it and make recommendations on what would be best

Here is their GF menu link: https://www.sharkysonthepier.com/menu/gluten-free
Ate there twice after going to Capersen - no reaction I have an epi pen & get rocked with the slightest crumb - shared the shrimp & crab nachos (just chips not fried) & wings (not fried) - then a burger with sweet potato fries (which are baked) the next time - and I was fine both times - they have a separate menu just ask for it - everyone was nice about it!

As a sensitive celiac, I rarely eat out. I was able to eat here without issue. I chose the Seafood Rainforest over rice that was delicious.

I’m not one to leave negative reviews but I was so disappointed with my experience at Sharky’s. I was super excited to eat here since they had a GF menu, great options to choose from & lots of positive reviews on here. However, I feel like a lot of my positive experiences at restaurants aren’t based on the food but rather the server’s knowledge and ability to make me feel comfortable dining at the establishment. Unfortunately, our server was not very knowledgeable about the GF menu & did not make me feel safe or comfortable eating anything on the menu. I ordered fish tacos with rice but when the meal came out they gave it to me with French fries (which based on other reviews are NOT GF). Our server told me it was fine to eat them but I sent the meal back anyway since I didn’t want to get sick. I think this place is fine to visit if you have celiac, just all depends on your server’s knowledge of the GF menu.

The view is spectacular and the food is actually quite good at Sharkey‘s. Seems that people aren’t aware that you can skip the line and dine on the second level overlooking the pier.

Great choices on the GF menu. I went with the nachos and they were delicious. There is not a dedicated fryer, but many options.

I had to ask a lot of questions to make sure I wouldn't be affected, but I was able to have shrimp cocktail and the Seafood Rainforest without getting sick. Beautiful waterfront location.

Gluten free options were clearly marked. The fryer is not separate. So fries are not gluten free. We had the seafood nachos which were delicious, the Island Jambalaya, and blackened grouper sandwich (gf bun available). The view is so fun, and the drinks were yummy! Definitely worth the visit and able to visit and be safe for celiacs.

We had a delicious lunch here. Our server was very knowledgeable about celiac and the GF items were marked on the online menu. The only issue right now is that due to COVID the menu has changed and they do not have printed GF menus. We asked the server if the fries are made in a dedicated fryer and he explained that they are in their own bin but the oil circulates between them (there is a filter). We opted out of fries but, were glad he knew so much. My son with CD loved the Seafood Rainforest over rice. I enjoyed the Summer on the Beach salad with the catch of the day (grilled swordfish).

My waitress seemed very knowledgeable on what celiacs were and made sure to note that it was an allergy. They offer gf buns and have many other things. They mentioned that there was cross contamination with the fries in the frier so she knew what she was talking about.

I had a phenomenal gluten free and soy free meal. The lobster stuffed flounder was the best I’ve had. Recommend completely!
Yes
Extensive gluten free menu is available if you ask. My favorite is the spicy seafood nachos. All 3 restaurants owned by this family (Sharkeys, Fins and Snook Haven) have gluten free menus and my celiac plagued family feel comfortable eating at them.
Yes
It looks like things have changed here since the other reviewers were at this restaurant. They do have a separate GF menu. Our waitress Angie said the cook worked hard on the menu and took a long time to make sure he had it right. The menu was great, the cook even listed the sauces you could and couldn’t have. Apparently they make a lot of their own sauces there. They do have fries, I had the sweet potato fries that were really good! Also had a chicken sandwich which was excellent. The bun was good, one of the better ones I have ever had. Our waitress Angie was very knowledgeable about Gluten. I also have a dairy intolerance and she was very helpful with that also. She checked with the cook on some of my questions. Appears the cook is educating himself more on food allergies and intolerances. I thought they had a decent variety of food to offer. They make a great margarita too!
The server didn’t know what celiac was nor did he understand what gluten free meant, the food was lackluster (for me and for my five non gf family members), everything was overpriced and we waited two hours for the privilege. We won’t be going back!
Staff was friendly and helpful with respect to being gluten free. There is a separate menu to guide you and the wait staff was able to check on a side not listed. I went with the Alfredo, but substituted the pasta for rice. It was really delicious and I didn’t miss the pasta whatsoever. Nice to find such a great GF option in this area.
Yes
Their is a limited gluten free menu. Server was not well informed or sensitive to being gluten free. Gluten free roll was not good.
Limited gf options. Bread hit or miss. No fries or anything fried. Servers limited knowledge. Servers not allergy friendly ( " I'm going to have to go to bat 8n the kitchen for this ")
The staff was very courteous and friendly. Our waitress gave me the GF menu, and made suggestions for my dish. It was fantastic.
Yes
The waitress was awesome but I didn’t really like the food, could have been that I’m just not a big seafood fan so try it for yourself.
Quite a few items on the GF menu and all I’ve tried have been tasty. Menu clearly marked and staff is friendly and helpful.
Yes
They have a separate GF menu. I LOVE the lobster & artichoke dip, I have it every time we go! Great atmosphere with indoor or outdoor seating
Gluten free menu, they can alter many of the dishes to be gluten free. They have a list of sauces and dressings that are gluten free. Deep fryer is NOT dedicated, no buns/tortilla/pasta options but they will sub rice or grilled veggies. Not many veg options
