I have been at the nearby hospice for the past few days and grateful to have this here. I had a delicious egg and cheese sandwich on a fresh gluten free roll. No reaction.

Just stopped for a quick lunch and the service was fast and excellent. Friendly staff and they cared about preventing cross contamination. There were almost too many gf options as usually there isn’t that much choice. Great spot to stop

Hotel breakfast buffets scare me. So we took a short ride to Shelly’s. Sausage, egg and cheese on an Udi’s roll was so good (saltpepperketchup) that I’m taking a sandwich to go for lunch!

My understanding is that one of the owners or a relative has celiac. They have always been helpful and careful. This is a deli, so it has deli food, but also carries some frozen gf items

They have a dedicated gluten free section, gluten free fryers, and staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to food allergies.

They food is fantastic. I’ve never had anything bad from here. They have it all when it comes to gluten free options. Rolls, subs, French fries, Mozzarella sticks, cookies, brownies; they really have it all.

Staff is very friendly. Will go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable when ordering. Shelly and Ricky are the kindest people and will make sure you’re happy with your order. I don’t go anywhere else when it comes to sandwiches or really any kind of food. I trust them completely!

Fantastic place! Staff super knowledge. Food fabulous!

The food was really delicious, my wife didn't get sick, but minus one star because it took 30 minutes to get fries. They were a little disjointed getting the orders taken care of. During the lunch rush they had to turn on the counter-top fryer they used for gluten-free fries before they made our order.

In the end, they had really good food and nobody got sick. I'll be back even though it was a little slow.

Love that when you order off of the gluten free menu they specifically ask if you are gluten sensitive or have celiacs disease. She also showed me the stove that they use for gluten free only and the seperate knives, spatulas, everything. They also have Udi muffins and rolls and bagels which was definitely a bonus! Love this place and love that they are celiac disease friendly and aware!

I have celiac and I am very sensitive to cross contamination, and knock wood I have never ever been glutened here! They have provided me everything from weekend breakfast sandwiches to catering my 30th bday party with all gluten free food for my guests and I! Best Gluten free Deli ever!!! They have the best gluten free sub bread I have ever had and their sandwiches are delicious. Staff are very knowledgeable and cautious, food is absolutely delicious and they can make almost anything on their menu gluten free.

Gluten Free Rolls, Wraps, Subs, Bagels, Cookies, Brownies, Pasta, Home Made Gluten Free Chicken Cutlets and Mozzarella Sticks. You name it they got it! Shellys is your one stop Deli/Sandwich Shop/Caterer gluten free or not! Friendly and knowledgable staff will go above and beyond taking extra care for the people with cross contamination sensitivity. Anything they have on their menu they can make gluten free. Be aware most times it is better to call in if you need something fried in the gluten free fryer as it is not always on during the day and may need some time to warm up. Best gluten free restaurant in the area hands down nothing compares!

Owner's father-in-law has celiac so they understand fully what it requires. Very helpful with suggestions and yes, the mozzarella sticks were awesome. It's worth going off the beaten path to support this celiac-safe business.

We found this place by chance after visiting national sites in Hyde Park. It's a phenomenal little deli! My kids and I all have celiac or gluten intolerance. Items we ordered gluten free: BLT, sub sandwich, MOZZERELLA STICKS (first time in three years I've been able to eat these!), French toast, and grilled cheese. They are very careful and when I ordered, they asked if we had celiac and needed to be concerned about cross contamination. There's not a lot of seating (at most, 8 people), but it was super yummy! It was more costly than we are used to, but we have found it to be pretty much on par with the food prices for the rest of this area (we are from Texas).

Shelly's Deli is amazing! To have an actual deli sandwich on a gf sub is amazing to those of us who haven't had such luxuries in so long! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about food allergies and ensures all gf food is prepared separately to avoid cross contamination. I also recently ordered catering from them for a holiday party and I can't tell you how nice it was to have actual trays of hot food made gluten free! Penne a la vodka, chicken Marsala, sausage and peppers, and eggplant parm! All gluten free! Even the gluten eaters loved it and couldn't believe it was all gluten free!! Highly, highly recommend!

celiac runs in the owners family so they know what they are doing. I had an Italian combo on a sub roll that reminded me of the old days. and it was normal size. I couldn't finish it! the kids had mozzarella sticks and French fries made in a dedicated frier. very attentive, very friendly staff.

This restaurant, which is a deli counter with a small number of tables and snack and dessert foods for sale was a pleasant suprise. They are in the process of creating a gluten free menu, but they have many gluten free options, and an extensive assortment of gluten free breads. I had a sausage and pepper sandwich, which came on a gluten free, Udi's bun. The sausage was mild, and was smothered in sauteed green and red bell peppers. It was very flavorful, and the bun held together and did not crumble. I also had their home made potato salad, which was filling but a bit bland. They also offer gluten free cookies, which they keep frozen until they are ordered to keep them from getting dry.

Everyone that works there is super knowledgable about celiacs. They have rolls and grinders - THAT DON'T FALL APART! They also have lactose free cheese. Yum!
