From the owner
We started Shojin (DT Los Angeles & Culver City) with the hope of creating a place where people with severe allergies such as Celiac, soy, nut, sesame, onion, garlic, and different food preferences like vegan, vegetarian can enjoy the same dining together.
We offer not only GLUTEN-FREE but also plant-based and allergic-friendly food.
You can easily find what allergens are contained in each item on the menu.
As well as gluten-free and plant-based, another important concept is:
Make you and your body healthy and happy.
So, we never use pre-made foods because most of them contain artificial ingredients, colors, and/or preservatives. Instead, we prepare all our sauces, "tuna", "chicken", "beef" and so on in our kitchen using the highest quality ingredients based on the Macrobiotic philosophy, and organic as much as possible.

I give 5 stars because 7 stars is not an option. My wife and I can never decide what we want and settle for ordering 4 entrees and then overeating. You would never know the food is GF.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Allergens clearly labeled, including soy. Option for soy-free with coconut aminos if you so choose. Delicious Saki cocktails. Great service. Highly recommend!!

Hands down the best gluten free vegan food ever. Their food is AMAZING and they have amazing service. I never feel sick leaving there and all their food is organic, vegan and it's a dedicated gluten free restaurant. This is worth every penny!

Totally gluten free restaurant including a real gluten free beer. They had a New Years tasting menu that was amazing. Must try the tempura fried banana and mousse.
