The server was able to point me to multiple gluten-free options on the menu and demonstrated knowledge of cross contact (he mentioned a shared fryer when I asked about the hashbrowns). I ordered an omelette with gluten-free toast and fruit on the side. I was pleased to see they offer 3 different GF bread options: English muffins, white toast, and whole grain toast.
Every bit of this breakfast was delicious.

Great experience here! No gluten-free menu but the waiter was so nice. Couldn’t do breakfast potatoes but made the hash browns work. He checked with the kitchen and then assured us he had told them it was an allergy. Fun breakfast place.

This place was recommended to us as a breakfast spot within waking distance from the beach. No GF menu but when we asked the server was knowledgeable in pointing out what was safe. Quite a few choices with omelettes and other dishes. They have gluten free bread but it’s not listed on the menu, and they toast it separately. My celiac daughter had an omelette, potatoes and bread and had no issues.

I am a very sensitive celiac and I was able to eat here safely two times for breakfast while visiting La Jolla. They do not have a gluten free menu, but the waiter will point out what is safe on the menu. They were very conscious about the possibility of cross contamination and automatically informed me they would toast my gluten free bread in the oven instead of the toaster to keep it safe. I would highly recommend this restaurant as it had tasty food and celiac friendly.

I’ve been eating here since they opened and have been consistently impressed with the measures the staff take to keep my food safe. While the facility is not gluten free, my requests to have my food prepared separately are always met with courtesy and concern and in years of eating at Shorehouse, I’ve never gotten sick. The kitchen is extremely accommodating in substitutions, the servers are knowledgeable about ingredients (or very willing to go ask), and the food is delicious. I love the benedicts- there is a GF English muffin or I like them with sliced tomatoes. The hash browns are so indulgent - crispy deliciousness!

I really like the Shorehouse. It's a place I recently discovered not too far from the beach. Nice outdoor eating area and really good food. it is not a gluten-free facility but they do offer select items. They even have a few gluten-free items in their Bakery section. Breakfast $6-12. Their hamburgers are pretty good too. Appetizers are $8, salads are $8-14, sandwiches are $10-14, & dinner entrees are $15-26. While not a GF facility, the servers seem pretty conscientious about dietary requests.I also like they are dog friendly and have a menu for pets.
