This place is great! They will check the back for the flavor you ask for to prevent cross contamination. You don't need to explain celiac and ask them to open a fresh container. They just know enough to do it once you say celiac or allergy. They have lots of hard serve options and a few oatmilk soft serve options if dairy is a problem. They have gf sugar and wafer cones too. Overall great place!

I’ve found that ice cream can be tough with celiac because if you don’t do soft serve than all of the spoons that are used for hard ice cream are contaminated by all the toppings that are in the different tubs of ice cream since the scoopers usually just sit in the same water to rinse them off. When I went to Skipper Dipper tonight I asked if they could do a milkshake by sanitizing the scooper and milkshake machine. The manager came to talk to me and was EXTREMELY thoughtful and kindly told me that he was not comfortable with his young staff being responsible to make sure everything was sanitized the way it needed to be in order for there to be no cross contamination but he offered to take a completely new tub of ice cream that I wanted to the back and sanitize a scooper himself in order for me to have the certain flavor I wanted. They also have gluten free wafer and sugar cones!

Had mint choc chip and didn't get sick. Stated I had an allergy and they scooped mine out of a separate container in the freezer with a new scoop - which is what it looks like they do for all allergies. So, great on the avoiding cross-contamination front.

I will say their menu is labeled the reverse of what I wish. It labels which ones have gluten, not which ones are gluten free. I'm not sure of the brand or if the ice cream is technically tested to be gluten free - but apparently at least the mint is safe so it worked out well enough for us.

My “authorized dipper” provided me with a menu labeled with all allergens. She used gloves, a new scoop and a fresh tub from the back to fill my order to make sure I wouldn’t have any issues. 10/10 would recommend.

Just perfect. Our gluten free, dairy free boy was a happy camper with their fantastic pineapple DF ice cream on a GF cone (& didn’t get sick after). Staff changed gloves without being asked when we said our son was allergic and had a dedicated staff to serve him (the rest of us had gluten cones and a different server). They offer GF sugar cones and wafer cones and a few DF ice cream options. I didn’t see any signs of cross contamination and our son can react with either dairy or gluten cross contamination. Really an A+ establishment!

This place is a MODEL for how I wish all other establishments were. Clear menu and TOTAL understanding of celiac and cross. Completely accommodating and did NOT make me feel like it was an inconvenience to serve me. Definitely celiac friendly. Scooped my ice cream from a closed container with a different scoop. My spoon was wrapped also. If I could have hugged the staff I would have. What a pleasure to go here. Thank you Skipper Dipper!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE CONES! I stick to soft serve, but they have a clearly marked allergen list for all their flavors. I would bet that if hard ice cream is your preference, they would scoop it for you from a fresh tub to avoid cross contamination. They always get my sprinkles straight from the box for that reason. We are locals so we eat here countless times a season and I love that I don’t have to worry about explaining Celiac disease or getting sick. They are always busy but don’t let the long line discourage you, the service is amazing and that line moves quick!!!

I have been ordering skipper dipper for years. I finally asked them whether non cookie dough type was GF. They showede a chart by flavor and everything except sherbet had gluten.

This place is very organized and the staff is very knowledgeable about what is gluten free. They have soft serve, dole whip, and hard ice cream flavors that are gluten free. They have a list of ingredients and allergens. Everything was really good!
