We had dinner at Slows and had a great experience. Menu is labeled with GF options and our server Mike was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were even able to get the waffle fries because nothing else is fried in the fryer. My son is very sensitive to cross contamination and was fine with our meal. It would be helpful if the bbq sauces were labeled, they are all GF except for the sweet one. I can see how a mistake could happen there if we had a less experienced server.

I am a very sensitive Celiac for over 10 years. I've eaten here and a Slows to Go for years, never been sick once. The owners and Chef have gluten allergies and are very Knowledgable!!! Gluten free buns from Rumis Passion GF Bakery and all the sauces are GF and delicious

Glutened! Went to Slow’s with a large party of 12, including 3 celiacs. Informed waiter at beginning of 3 “full celiacs, gluten allergies” and inquired about safety. Was reassured that fryer was dedicated GF and that precautions would be taken. We again emphasized GF when ordering, and a third time when the food came out. Two of the celiacs in our group (teens) shared a sandwich. The bun was apparently NOT GF, and they had strong reactions, with the third celiac being reaction-free (ordered something different). It is so disappointing when a highly rated allegedly gluten-friendly place like this messes up at the expense of the health of its customers.

Be sure to ask which sauces are not gluten free! Not all of them are gf but not all servers are aware. Got sick one time bc server said all were gf.

A majority of the menu is gluten free already. Their fries are also gluten free, being they are the only thing fried there. All of their sauces are gluten free as well. Great food and feel very comfortable eating here!

As soon as I said the word celiac, the server knew exactly what I meant. Dedicated fryer, and very conscientious.

They have lots of gluten free options. My boyfriend has celiac and he ordered chicken and waffle fries. He didn’t get sick at all! We will definitely be back!

I’ve been a few times and haven’t had an issue. I always get the plain brisket and apple BBQ sauce with a side of coleslaw. I do wish they had gf buns, since I love brisket sandwiches. Just a warning - some of the beers listed under “gluten free” are in fact “gluten removed”, so do some research on each option if you have celiac.
Yes
This was my first time here and it was wonderful. There was an overwelming amount of options on the menu and all of the sauces are gluten free. I can't wait to come back again.
Yes
Two of the owners have been celiac diagnosed! DEDICATED WAFFLE FRY FRYER! All the sauces are gf! What are you waiting for???
Yes
Great food. Never been glutened. I was told one of the owners has celiac. They only cook their waffle fries in their fryers so they are safe. Good , fresh food. I get carryouts here all the time and have never gotten sick.
Yes
So nice to have fries!! Menu says “gf” next to safe items. Only one of the sauces had gluten.
Great food. Only a few things and one sauce has gluten. The only thing cooked in the fryer is French fries, so no gluten. The seats don't move and can be uncomfortable, but the food is a welcome haven.

I'm giving this a 3 star because I love their BBQ, HOWEVER be mindful of the sauce that's on your order. I usually order a pulled pork sandwich without the bread and it's told to be "gluten free", but when I was given the order and asked what kind of sauce I'd like as a side I asked which ones were gluten free. Apparently all but one or two and I guess the "gluten free" meal they served me had one of the only sauces that had gluten in it. I was just so confused on how they could leave out that factor. So, make sure to ask about the sauces as well.

Gluten free menu, 8-10 GF beers and as many ciders. The meats (to die for) are all GF, 4 of the sauces are GF. Excellent sides - 6 are GF. Waitstaff knowledgeable. Didn't get sick. I'll be back!!

delicious food and they do have a gluten free. menu......however.....it states at the bottom that cross contamination is a possibility in their kitchen which made me very nervous, for very good reason! I had the brisket and green beans yet still had a reaction. Was not worth it even though it was yummy. I would not recommended to celiacs or sensitive intolerants like myself.
No
got very sick from pulled pulled pork. staff is clueless, gf menu is a joke. not recommended at all. you are taking your chances here as I highly doubt they have a gf safe kitchen.
No
(This review is for Slows On The Go in Cass Corridor). I ordered items marked gluten free, checked on the sauces, and yet I had a reaction. The food is good and the staff seem accommodating, but there's clearly the opportunity for contamination somewhere in the kitchen. Recommended if you only have a gluten sensitivity, but if you have Celiac Disease (like me) or, worse, children with Celiac or allergies, I'd recommend elsewhere.
Amazing food, the smell when you walk into this place is awesome. They have everything on the regular menu clearly marked with a G for gluten free; they also offer gluten free beer and hard cider. This place will fill you up and you will leave with a huge smile on your face.
As for the sauces I make sure every time I go which are gluten free just have to be safe than sorry.
The review below us wrong, only done if the sauces are gluten free. Also, the staff is not very educated with celiac disease contamination issues. The cooks usually know, but just manger sure you are very clear with the wait staff
Menu items are denoted with a "G" for gluten free and there were actually beer choices! Plus all the sauces were gluten free.
