I order from here all the time and have never had an issue. Food is fantastic! Definitely the best gf Mac and cheese I’ve ever had, I hardly know the difference. Gf breadcrumbs and all toppings are gf as well. Props to them.

I’ve been here 2-3 times and haven’t gotten sick! I really like that I can get both gluten- and dairy-free Mac and cheese! That’s something that’s almost impossible to make at home. It’s usually pretty tasty and the servings are bigger than they look on the wall. The setting is very casual and you serve/bus yourself, so don’t come if you’re hoping for a fancy experience. Update: I’ve now been 4+ times and have never gotten sick!

Someone messed up bad. I ordered the gluten free mac and cheese and within an hour my entire stomach was coming out of me. By the next day I had blood in my stool. I didn’t fully recover until 48 hours later.

I ordered here a year ago and was fine. But something bad happened I obviously was not given the gluten free noodles.

If you order PLEASE make sure you talk to someone and not just order on the iPad. I don’t want what I went through to happen to anyone else.

I visited this restaurant a few days ago and at first, it felt nerve wracking because you order on an iPad. However, I googled another celiac person’s experience and apparently the restaurant had really done the work on making sure it is safe to eat here. When ordering on the iPad-there was a very clear option for getting it gluten free and so it’s right on your order! Then when they brought out my food-it was in its own frying pan (all the meals come in separate frying pans!) which made me feel reassured too! I didn’t get sick & it was great food!

I didnt get sick but the vibes here were weird I didnt feel very reassured that my food would be free from cross contamination. You have to order on an ipad and it just didnt feel quite right. I talked to the employee about the gluten allergy and he confirmed that it would be gluten free but im not sure how seriously they take it tbh.

I got the 4 cheese gluten free with their gluten free bread crumbs. I was really sick within 30 minutes of eating it. I eat out a lot and don’t usually get sick with trace amounts or cross contamination. I double checked the receipt on my order and it said gluten free. I haven’t felt this bad since my celiac diagnosis 10 years ago. I wouldn’t risk it if I were you.

Yummy GF Mac and cheese! I’ve never had any issues when I inform the staff I am on a GF diet, and they seem to be well trained in avoiding cross contamination. However, eat here at your own risk since this is not a dedicated GF restaurant.

Ahhhhhh!!! A must go for all Mac and cheese lovers. Best GF vegan Mac I’ve ever had!! You get to add your own toppings and everything, plus all the breadcrumbs are GF so you don’t have to worry about them using the wrong ones. Felt very safe eating here!

I had the Masala Mac. It was delicious! All of their dishes can be made gluten-free. By the way, I was worried about the cast-iron pans. Typically, those don’t get washed in the home. I asked about it and they do wash them at the restaurant, so they are safe. I was so glad to have delicious mac’n’cheese with amazing gluten-free breadcrumbs. Also, for any vegans they have several vegan options as well.

Got the GF pasta and the vegan cheese. Great portion size, okay price. I didn’t add any toppings so it was a bit bland. I’d recommend spicing it up! Will increase the price though. Felt all good after eating, overall would go back.

Ok so I wouldn't recommend this place if you are highly sensitive to gluten because they are fast paced and I see how they can slip up ex: not switching gloves ect. HOWEVER, if you can tolerate it, I highly recommend this place for a DIY custom burger! Like another reviewer said, they do have gluten free pastas and bread crumbs eat. BUT come here for the burger! It's my favorite go-to place after having drinks or take out place for a night in with the hubby. Hubby is not gf but he likes the regular burgers here and gives the bun a 6/10 (which is really good for someone who despises gf food lol)

Ok HOLY YUM!!! So many macaroni and cheese options. Breadcrumbs listed as GF but are optional on top. Choose GF pasta when you order on the iPad. My boyfriend and I tried the 4 cheese and the cheeseburger Mac. You must go here!! It’s so worth the stop.

Had a great experience here. Was a little worried about ordering from the automated tablet, so we waited until someone came up to the counter so they could talk to us about the gf protocols. Once we did, we felt comfortable ordering from the tablet. Loved the cheeseburger Mac! Didn’t get sick and the portions were very large. Will definitely go back.

I ordered buffalo chicken gluten free pasta without breadcrumbs. After a few hours I felt so sick!! They definitely gave me non gluten free pasta. Would not risk it again

Delicious! Owner told me that although the little skillets are washed three times between uses, they don't have dedicated gf ones so if you're very sensitive get your order in a to go container (you can still eat it at the restaurant). All the breadcrumbs are gluten free. I loved the Alpine, and the nosh size was just enough.

Amazing gluten free. I came in, ordered my meal. It was very easy and I felt so relaxed ordering a gluten free option as some places I feel a bit awkward after asking about gluten free. I got the napoletana it was BEAUTIFUL. I got a nosh size.. it was definitely enough! One of my favourite meals visiting NY.

Visited 19 May 2018. Fabulous! I’m extremely reactive, and loved every gooey, cheesy, bite. They are extremely aware of GF requirements and said all sauces/versions were safe with the GF pasta. Loved loved loved it.

Best mac and cheese I've had by far! I had the gf cheeseburger and split it with my brother (not gf) and he said that it was the best mac and cheese he has ever had. They even offer gf breadcrumbs on top.

I have been here twice now, the first time was good but I went back and was definitely served Mac and cheese that was NOT gluten free - I felt terrible all evening and still felt the effects in the morning.

Good menu many options good salad.

It was delicious the first three times I had it. I thought it was such an amazing Mac and cheese that I haven't had the pleasure of enjoying in a while! However, the last time I was there I was for sure "gluten poisoned"- which is the phrase I use ha. I haven't been back since. Could have been bad luck but just a heads up!

HORRIBLE- after a 1 hour and 20 minute wait I was served Mac and cheese that was not gluten free. The place was dirty, the staff was rude and lazy and people that got their 45 minutes after me had finished eating by the time I was even served. I have been throwing up for hours after eating this and I would not recommend it to anyone that has a gluten allergy or someone without allergies. Worst dining experience of my life

But I ordered the gf parisienne. My boyfriend ordered the regular buffalo chicken. They are really good. The aromas and cheese factor was so good and stretchy.

We love S'mac and none of the three GF eaters in our family have ever been glutened here! None is a diagnosed Celiac, but I believe myself to be, and I'm very sensitive to the smallest amount of gluten....But I haven't had a problem at all. The food is superb! Best mac and cheese I have ever had! It's quite expensive, but restaurant food in Manhattan always is.

Food was excellent. Only after eating did I see that the regular pasta and the gluten free pasta are next to each other in the Bain Marie, where some serious cross contamination can occur. I'm still waiting to see if I have a reaction, but, as a celiac, I will not dine here again.
