Robin is awesome. The food is a true great burger! Clean and fun atmosphere. Nicely done.
The burger fix kicked in again ..... Amazing burger but had it with sweet potato fries which were said to be allergen free but think I got glutened from then :(
I just attempted to order a gluten free cheeseburger, which I’ve had several times, but was told the only gluten free item is the bun….
I politely questioned this, asking, “so the burger isn’t gluten free?”
Response: “no nothing is gluten free other than the bun.”
While I know this is incorrect, i didn’t want to aggravate the employee who had already walked away to continue the phone call conversation he was having.
Smashburger is one of the few places I can typically eat gluten free and this was beyond discouraging.

Today was my first visit to Smashburger. Most locations have Udi's gluten free buns and a dedicated frier for fries only. The staff was knowledgeable and asked if I had an allergy. The burger was great as were the smashfries and a shake, they do not use malt.

Employees said they don’t have a separate fryer and everything is made in the same place. They seemed confused when asked about gluten free options and we didn’t end up ordering.

They told me they understood gluten free, changed gloves, separate fryer for fries etc. I ordered a burger w USO’s gluten free bun & fries. Tasted great but an hour later I definitely got cross contamination. Would not recommend if sensitive. 🙁

My celiac son loves the smash chicken sandwich! Just be sure to ask the bun not to be toasted to avoid cross contamination. The trainer was there the first time we ordered and she specifically told us to tell them when ordering. He’s inadvertently had it toasted a couple of times and had no adverse reaction, but to to be safe we say not toasted.
