Not safe for celiacs. I honestly don’t know how this has so many positive reviews, but most are very old so wanted to leave an updated one. We sat down, I requested a server knowledgeable in gluten free - she said she was but she had zero idea what I could have besides pancakes, and those are cross contaminated. Our drinks came out on a tray that was covered in gluten crumbs (roll remnants). We ended up leaving and went to Pat’s where I got gluten free pizza.
Worth a visit just to hear the local senior citizens chatting and reminiscing. I love this place. Their gf pancakes are fluffy and the size of hubcaps. I'm sure it's CCed but as that isn't an issue for me, I'm all in on their pancakes.
I can’t specify how friendly this is for Celiacs. However, the best GF pancakes I ever had. I haven’t eaten any in years. This will be my go to place for them.
Had dinner last night. Ordered a burger w a gf bun. After ordering, the waitress came out to inform they were out of the gf rolls but could do gf bread instead so no big deal. However when the meal came it came on a bun. We questioned and they gave a non-gf bun. Had to send it back, they did gf bread. Think I had cross contamination or maybe toast was toasted w normal bread.
Amazing place to eat when GF!! They have GF bread (sweet Christine's), 2 flavor a of GF muffins, 2 GF bagels, GF baquettes, GF hamburger rolls, and GF pancakes(pancakes are as big as plate but crepe thin)!!!! The fries are GF *but* it's a shared fryer.
The staff is very aware of cross contamination. They even have a dedicated GF toaster!! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Totally GF trained staff! Asks the appropriate questions regarding your order - great food and awesome owners!!!
All I can say is that our experience was different from everyone else's thus far. The GF menu was a grungy piece of paper in a clear plastic holder. Betsy let the waitress know that she has celiac and that she was worried about cross-contamination. She got eggs and fruit. Six hours later, she was sick and had the usual issue. They mean well for sure but may miss the mark on occasion.
Tons of gluten free options- bread, rolls, pancakes, some type of gf hot pocket, etc. the staff was well informed and advised that they would clear the cook surfaces and clean them before preparing my food without me even having to ask for that. This would be a great place to bring a kid with celiac disease or even an adult who is tired of only having 1 or 2 options to choose from on restaurant menus.
Light and fluffy pancakes. Dedicated menu. Knowledgable staff.
Old Style Diner, gluten free toast with breakfast. Even know to inform you that toaster is not gluten free dedicated, but you can choose to have it grilled. Seems to be not only gluten free friendly, but dedicated.
