This was actually the second time I’ve been here. I wasn’t sure and turned out that it was. Happy Hour drinks, prices and bartender was great. Food was meh, it was ok but nothing to write home about or want to come back. I came here because they had gluten free options and they were clearly identified on their menu. Absolutely, nothing bad, but not memorable.
Nice atmosphere. I have eaten here several times in the last 3 years and have never had an adverse (Celiac) reaction to the food. I wish there were more GF choices.

Food was excellent and the waitress Sylvia was bright intelligent and enthusiastic about the food and knowledgeable about the gluten free menu

atmosphere and presentation was nice but that's just a plus if a restaurant has gluten free options and fresh ingredients. Which Sonterra did not. Limited menu and even more limited gf options. If a Mexican restaurant has gluten free items they'd better also have gf chips, or else what's the point?! (They did not have gf chips fyi) my bf ordered the seafood ceviche and I asked why it wasn't listed as gf. the waitress told me it's bc they make the ceviche sauce with ocean spray tomato juice (wtf?!) that's gross! that's like cooking lobster in top Ramen and charging $16 for it. On the upside, I didn't get sick and the Margarita was good.
extremely expensive for southwest style food. The salsas are like they just had a bunch of leftover fruits so they chopped them up, put them in a bowl, and said viola! Salsa. For some that is tasty. It wasn't for me. The chips taste bagged and the menu is a bit limited. Although I chose the special on my last visit and it was delicious! Not southwest food, which is probably why it was so good. The London broil, potatoes, and sautéed spinach was very tasty. Pricey, but tasty. I'd gladly eat there again if I knew I could get that. Unfortunately it wasn't on the menu and there was nothing appealing to me on it. I will say, the food is rather unique, and that itself is a plus in my eyes.
Good food and drinks. staff was very friendly. Had the Halibut tacos....delisiousness!

Absolutely delicious food! Great GF options!

Their chips aren't gluten free, but they have several different salsas as per our waitress. They should have some tostitos or some type of gluten free chip to offer. It's a Mexican restaurant. You go there expecting to eat chips and salsa! The waitress did offer me a corn tortilla to tear apart and dip... I declined. The food is just ok. I wasn't blown away by any of the entrees I have tried, especially for the price. I gave them 2 stars because their banana fosters dessert is amazing and gluten free and so are their margaritas. In fact I have went there just to order those two items.
A while back, I'd heard a few recommendations that Sonterra Grill had a great gluten-free menu. I've been several times now ... so impressed!! I would highly recommend the Steak & Lobster Enchilada, Portabello Mushroom & Spinach Enchiladas, or the Sea Bass Tacos. Great option for Downtown dining!!
Took another reviewers' recommendation on the shrimp and lobster enchilada, it was amazing! & there was a great selection on the gf menu.
Very knowedgable staff about gluten issues. Great menu lots of options. Nice location downtown. Well prepared food and decent atmosphere
I agree with the other reviewer. I love this place and they are educated on cross contamination issues. The server will be quick to tell you not to eat the tortilla chips because they are fried in contaminated oil, so don't sit down and start munching before the server gets there. Heads up, the Stoley Doley's (a drink) are amazing.
Wonderful!!!!! One of my favorite restaurants with probably one of the best g-free menus!!! Staff is knowledgeable on g-free. Beware of the corn chips...they are corn however the oil they are fried in can be cross contaminated. I recommend the lobster and shrimp enchiladas...this is, without a doubt, the most amazing dish i have ever eaten!!!
