honestly overrated. their food is not good enough to risk getting sick— i’ve been let down by this place quite a few times.
Delicious as always. Not dedicated GF but plenty of options.
Not celiac safe. I have been gluten the last 2 times I tried eating there. It’s a cross contamination issue.

They only have gf pancakes or salads for breakfast option. Other breakfast items labeled gf are not actually gf (like the brussel sprouts scramble previously mentioned in the comments). They do not modify food to make an item gf and do not have a dedicated gf kitchen space.

Square cafe is really great for celiacs and other gluten free folks! Lots of gluten free options, just make sure to verbalize if you have celiac or a gluten allergy because some menu items are cooked in shared spaces (like the gluten-free pancakes). With that being said, the staff are very well-informed and will make accommodations to ensure your safety. I always get the Brussels sprout hash and it’s delicious! My favorite dish on the menu and I’ve never gotten sick. This restaurant is trust worthy and I never feel scared to eat here, which is why I’ve become a regular! Highly recommend for the gluten-free, vegetarians, and vegans. Also a great family-friendly place!
Ordered from Doordash since I’m in for a conference Got the 2 egg breakfast, small milk. Small OJ = $34 Food was good. Didn’t get sick. OJ was delicious and is either fresh squeezed or darn close to it.
Had orzo salad marked as gluten free. I told the waitress and she said it was a mistake. I’d be careful here. Other than that, my salmon scramble was good.
Very knowledgeable staff with a lot of options. We ate here twice on our trip to Pittsburg. The lox scramble and the gluten free pancakes were delicious. Space is bright and happy. Highly recommend.
A lot of reviews are mentioning that the gluten free pancakes can be made in a seperate pan but that was not our experience. I'm guessing because they moved locations they now use a full griddle where all pancakes are made. They do have a gluten free dedicated toaster and a fair amount of nice drinks so it all worked out.
Was happy to find a breakfast place with gluten free & vegetarian options offering takeout. A bit on the pricy side for what it is, but I did feel great all day after eating and enjoyed all the options for customization. Bonus points for how well packaged their takeout is- I tripped on my way out and all of our coffees and meals remained intact lol
Great menu options and great staff. Food was fantastic - had the corned beef hash and pancakes.
Got delivery for myself and two other people with Celiac disease. No symptoms for any of us, and the food was delicious, highly recommend.
The food was delicious. I ate broccoli scramble and a gf pancake. Pancake is topped with carmelized pears. Big amount of food, couldn’t finish it. Staff is friendly. Seems to be celiac friendly and took my concerns seriously.
Love Square cafe - they are one of the few places in the burgh that have GF pancakes. Thank goodness for that!

Staff is extremely knowledgeable about gluten intolerance. Be sure to tell your waiter that you have an allergy, and they will make every effort to make your experience worthwhile. It also helps that their food is some of the best I’ve had in Pittsburgh!

Excellent food - knowledgeable staff. Ordered an omelette that needed modification to be gluten free and the did so with ease. Side of greens cam with it which were fresh and very lightly dressed with olive oil. I went when it was early in the day and seating was not a problem. This is the gluten free side of us as a couple who is highly sensitive to gluten.
Long line on Sunday morning but worth the wait!! GF options were plentiful & carefully prepared & served on different colored plates to avoid any possible mix-ups. AMAZING food and great service!! Will DEFINITELY be back!

The waitress nodded and was very friendly and reassuring as soon as I said "celiac disease" in reference to the gluten free pancakes I was ordering. Then, when I asked about the egg preparation, she told me they used a new pan every time. I felt super comfortable ordering here!
Phenomenal!! They had several GF items on menu. They let me change out egg whites for whole scrambled eggs, gave me GF toast and the GF pancake was the best ever-tasted like a normal buttermilk pancake:-). Seriously the best GF breakfast I have had-tasted like non GF food!! They were very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Will definitely be back when in town!!!!!!!

Staff is knowledgable and accommodating. Kitchen staff will use separate pans and utensils for Celiacs. Was advised to not eat GF pancakes as they share a surface with gluten. Pesto Chicken Salad with Honey Lemon Dressing is AMAZING.
They only have one gluten free pancake one their menu but their eggs and smoothies are great as well! It's always busy but the service is great! I would go here again!
