St James Tea Room

We sat outside with our dog. Very cute and pretty with lots of flowers and birds. Staff were very friendly and polite. We ordered cream tea. My husband not GF scones were huge and smelt amazing. My gluten free ones were smaller obviously but tastes amazing. Not dry and crumbly like previous I've had at other places. Generous helping of jam and cream. Other gluten free items available but was to full to try them after the lovely scones. Definitely recommend.

Had Devon cream tea today, waiter admitted that the scones were bought in as reduced cross contamination risk. Lovely scone with cream and jam, would recommend and go back that’s for sure!

Very accommodating, not a dedicated gluten free menu but will adapt to what you can have. We ate there several times with no issues and my daughter has multiple allergies along with coeliac disease. Would recommend if in Ilfracombe as safe to eat.
