The San Diego location is a little rundown two of the five bathrooms were closed and the others had broken mirrors and were pretty dirty but the most disappointing thing was the dedicated fryer was broken so there were no gluten-free fries or chips. The GF bun is really small too.

They do have separate dryers for gluten and gluten free. Just disappointing that their sweet potato fries have a gluten coating. I had a lettuce wrapped burger, good quality. My husband is not gf and really liked the sliders.

The fun part about the restaurant, you place your order through an iPad which is located at every table. It lets you know if the item is GF, took a lot of pressure out of ordering. My daughter posted on Instagram & FB & showed up on their mounted tv's. She got a kick out of that, also.
Single party on GF bun with a side of fries, also gf.

The menu has great gluten free options when you order from the iPad, as you can check each option to see if it’s gluten free. They also have a dedicated fryer for gluten free French fries! I’ve been 3-5 times and had a reaction only one of those times. The best trick I’ve learned is prior to ordering on the iPad, tell a waiter or waitress about your allergy in order to ensure they keep it free from cross-contamination. There is a feature that ONLY an employee can enter on the iPad to note a customer’s allergies. Great fries and great gluten free bun for your burger.

I used to go here all of the time, and when it was fairly new they were very careful with cross-contamination. After going this weekend, I became extremely sick within 10 minutes of eating their food. I have never been glutened so bad in my entire life. Servers here do not care about your food

Delicious burgers with gluten free buns and fries! They take precautions to prevent cross contamination and they even have a dedicated fryer for gluten free french fries! They ran out of gf sweet potato fries, but subbed regular gf fries, which were yummy. Will be eating here again!

NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY • the menu is very appealing, you can check which products add to your meal that are gf, and that's great. But the problem is the CROSS-CONTAMINATION. I've got glutened very bad, 4 days of stomach pain and other stuff.

I thought I would love stacked after reading the reviews but boy was I wrong. I got glutened big time. I feel like I did before I was diagnosed with celiacs(brain fog, muscle aches, bloating, tummy ache, digestive issues, emotional). This isn't a fun way to end a vacation and fly home feeling this this.

Great selections and they always alert the kitchen before sending our food off and double check to make sure everything is gluten free. Great place to take kids as well. I've eaten here over 5 times and I have never gotten sick and neither have my three boys who also have Celiac Disease.

Best and safest meal of my trip. They really get it! Apparently CEO of the company had a daughter with Celiac. Servers were very aware of protocols. You can order from iPad and it shows you everything that is gluten free. They have dedicated fryer for gluten free fries! Great burger. Hubby even lived the gfree bun on grilled chicken sandwich.

Pros: The atmosphere was wonderful, ordering through an iPad located at every table took the stress out of making sure every ingredient is GF.

Cons: The hamburger buns were dry & I've had better gf pizza. The worst part is being bed bound for 2 days so far due to being glutened. I felt off while walking around the mall it's located in & had the worst headache/body ache/stomach in a knot/nausea/heartburn/nerve pain, etc the next day. There went my Saturday & Sunday.

I still do believe the restaurant is celiac friendly to an extent, the staff didn't look at me as if I had 3 heads when I asked about gf. Unless it's cooked in a strict gf kitchen by myself, there's always a chance for cc, this I understand.

Fantastic gluten-free food! I tried this place while traveling in San Diego, what a gem. I ordered a stack my own pizza where there's an incredible list of ingredients to choose from and the wait staff was not only knowledgeable about keeping GF safe, they were exceptional at service. This was the best gf pizza I've had since being diagnosed celiac's. I ordered a pulled pork pizza with bbq sauce, pineapple, and freshly grated parmesan. Oh so tasty, and no side effects. I'd highly recommend to any gf diner!!!

fantastic food. knowledgeable servers. easy to find out which items are safe. My server had celiac. best cookies I've had since being diagnosed. gf mac is made from quinoa. I wish there were more dairy free options, as I'm sensitive to that too. bit that's my only tiny issue.

We were visiting San Diego and have a six year old that has Celiac. We don't eat out often, as we don't want to deal with what might happen if we aren't too careful. We wanted to eat out instead of cooking in at least one night on our trip. I checked on my app and found Stacked to be a good option to try at sometime during our stay. We incorporated it into our Sea World day, since it was very close. Each table has its own iPad to order with or you can do it the traditional way via your server. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. The server explained the gluten free symbology embedded in the iPad menu, which was very easy to use. Each option that is gluten free has a symbol tied to it to denote it as such. Your overall meal will have that symbol, until you choose a gluten filled option which will then cause it to go away. They had many gluten free options on the menu pasta, pizza crust, buns, cookies for a few of them. My daughter was a typical kid and wanted a cheese pizza. They only have one size gluten free crust, but that wasn't an issue since both our kids could share the pizza. Me and my wife decided to go with a pizza as well and build our own gluten free one, which was very easy to accomplish with the gluten free symbols on the iPad menu. We got the kids pizza ordered first so of course it was the first meal to arrive, which my daughter was eager to try. She gave it two thumbs up after the first bite. Our pizza arrived shortly after, which we agreed with our daughter as being delicious. When dessert time came around, they have a gluten free chocolate chip cookie, which my daughter was able to enjoy as an ice cream sandwich with some vanilla ice cream. She thoroughly enjoyed it, as it was nice to be able to have dessert out as well. I would highly recommend this place for someone looking to have a good night with some great food.

Several GF options. Very customizable! I tried the gluten free mac and cheese and my husband got the gluten free bun with pulled pork and gluten free fries. It was all really good! They had a gluten free ice cream cookie sandwich you could get but we ended up too full. I would recommend having a separate gluten free menu though so it's easier to figure out options.

STACKED at Fashion Valley Mall is my favorite gluten free burger place! Not only do I feel Celiac safe eating here, they are one of the few restaurants in San Diego that is GIG trained. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of and feel safe about eating your gluten free food. They don't just have amazing burgers and fries, you can also build your own gluten free loaded mac&cheese bowls! Everything from bacon, chicken, pulled pork, and many of other meat selections, or extra layers of different cheeses, and even lots of veggies of your choice can be added to your mac&cheese bowl.

Awesome. Perfect, just perfect! Everyone loved what they ordered. Very GF friendly! You use their iPad to customize your order subbing in GF bun/pizza crust/pasta/fries. Dedicated GF fryer. They really understand GF protocol. Each individual ingredient tells you GF or not. So much variety is rarely found in GF options. We had 2 amazing GF burgers and a GF pizza. We will be back tomorrow to try GF Mac-n-chz (and they have Daya dairy free cheese for the dairy free as well). My whole family, including the normal digesting people., had excellent meals. Kudos to a job well done.

There are lots of gluten-free items here, and they are clearly marked.

I spoke to a manager who said to let them know when you have celiac or allergies, and the manager will personally oversee your meal. I suppose we should always be doing that, but I had been a little too trusting and pne time I found a gluten ingredient in my salad.

It's a good restaurant, but don't necessarily rely on the ordering system alone - ask for a manager.

Super yummy comfort food! The menu on the iPad tells you when something you added to your meal contains gluten. As long as the wheat free emblem is on the screen, you should be safe. The staff was very good about identifying which meal was gluten free.

loved the concept and food was very good. tons of GF options. only reason it is 4 not 5 ★ is due to them not having separate plate to distinguish, which led to me being served a non-GF version of a dish by accident. Also, some parts of the menu contradicted others as to what was GF, but still, cool restaurant. Would egg eat here again, but verify with person delivering that each GF item is actually that.

They've got a self order system via iPads tableside that allows you to pick ingredients. Easy indicators when your food is totally GF. Doesn't list grilled onions as GF since they're at risk for cross contamination (grilled on the same surface as other foods). Very knowledge staff, with a dedicated fryer to boot!

We love stacked. Had a long run of no problem. Sad to say I got very sick from a GF pizza. Thought it was adding meat to the pizza. Gave them another try. Made a point to tell the server I had celiac and asked for them to let the kitchen know, which she did. Then when my pizza came out the person delivering it to the table was carrying another non-gf pizza in the same hand and the two pizzas were touching. The rest of my party had to wait for them to remake my pizza.
