I had a great experience at Stay and Play Cafe. The staff could not have been friendlier and accommodating of my need to avoid cross contamination. Items on the menu (Puerto Rican based food) are marked gluten free, such as yuca fries, jibaritos and maduros. I asked if fried items like the yuca fries were fried in a shared frier with gluten items and the waiter said they would be happy to switch out the oil in the fryer to avoid cross contamination. I have never been offered this before. I ordered four items marked gluten free and enjoyed all of them, along with a few rum based drinks
I also brought my son who really enjoyed trying the hundreds of board games available to play. Overall we really enjoyed our time here.
The following morning, I used a Gluten Detect test to check if I had ingested any gluten, and I passed (no gluten detected) which indicates the restaurant did a great job preventing cross contamination (should detect gluten ingested in prior 3-15 hours)
