My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. I booked reservations in advanced and let them know that I had a gluten allergy (celiac) and was VERY sensitive. The staff were all super knowledgeable and the food was fantastic! They even double confirmed my allergy and asked about severity for cross-contamination. We ordered the tomahawk steak, broccolini, and mashed potatoes. We also had cheesecake that was gluten free for dessert! Overall a great experience, didn’t get sick, very expensive, but I thought it was worth it.
Based on reviews here, we visited with open minds (and wallets -- it's a $$$$ place) but left before ordering. Maybe our server was new, or maybe she was nervous with allergies, so my wife did not get a good vibe during our visit. Nothing on the menu was marked, and while we were told that nearly ANYTHING could be prepared GF, several times my wife would ask about a dish and be told (almost too quietly to hear) that no, sorry, that one could NOT be done GF. So no fried foods. No to several salads. No to a seafood dish. No to at least one steak option (she wasn't sure about the sauce).
My suggestion is to save your money and visit the Hideout instead; it's in the Marriott on the same block (but different building).
AMAZING!! The whole staff is knowledgeable and the first thing they ask once seated is if any one has food allergies. The owners wife is gluten intolerant so all their soy sauce is actually tamari & gluten free! I can't have dairy or gluten & we had one of the best meals of our lives here!! It's a must for a true foodie! But as always make sure you ask ask ask. We were served French fries which were not gluten free & served a sorbet with dairy chocolate on top. But they will make up for mistakes & try their hardest. We were served edamame instead of fries afterwards. Highly recommended!!
Absolutely amazing! The waiter asked right as we sat down if there was any allergies to be aware of. Although items aren’t marked on the menu, a lot of the menu is gf since a majority of their marinade is with gf tamari. I got the salmon with sides of broccolini and whipped potatoes! Would definitely recommend for sensitive celiacs :)

Hands down, the best meal I had in Hawaii.. Right from the online booking I was filled with confidence when I was able to select gluten free & have that confirmed when we were seated.
The staff were extremely attentive to being coeliac, and the meal itself was absolutely outstanding. Do yourself a favour and get the triple seared strip steak.. next level steak game & worth every penny.
Food was incredible and felt very safe eating there. Upon arrival, the waiter asked us if there were any allergy to be aware of. Immediately told the chef about my celiac disease. He explained me the entire menu and explained all the modifications that could be made for the gf. The restaurant gave complimentary fries and because they weren’t gf, they offered me edamames (which was so appreciated). I had the filet mignon, mushrooms, mashed potatoes, asparagus and the cheese cake. 100% would recommend, but quite a pricey place
