Asked at till what options were available - gluten free bun and staff member helped me make up a gf safe meal with no issue
I have a gluten intolerance so opted for the gluten free bread. The staff member said she would wipe down all the surfaces and was thorough doing this. She used clean gloves and gluten free bread was in a packet. I chose each option of what I wanted in my sandwich that I knew I could eat. It was a positive experience for and enjoyed every bit as my son loves going to subway but doesn’t have an intolerance so I can still join him eating.
They have a policy of fresh gloves before opening and handling the GF bread. The bread was toasted on a dedicated GF tray. The sandwich was prepared on a clean fresh sheet of paper. I had checked in advance on the website to determine what toppings I liked that could be safely included in my bread - I had Roast Chicken; Lettuce; and the Mango Sauce. Some of my chicken fell off the bread into the lettuce tub, so I would be cautious about safety here - if that had been the Chicken Tikka from someone else’s sandwich earlier in the day the cross-contact would have had the potential to introduce gluten into the salad tubs. All of the crisps available on display as part of a meal, “may contain gluten”. It was nice to have my first fast food option since being diagnosed. The bread was nice compared to many GF breads.
