Favorite sushi place in the Bay Area. Lots of GF options (marked on menu) and outstanding vegetarian options too. Recommend the walnut roll.

Sumo is located in downtown Los Altos. They have street parking out front.
The gluten free items are marked on the menu. They also have gluten free soy sauce they can bring out if you ask.
The staff here is very friendly. I always notify them about my gluten allergy when ordering and ask them to inform the chef and if they can do their best to prevent cross-contamination and make sure to use a clean knife.
Safe gluten-free sushi can be very hard to find in the Bay Area so highly recommended this place!
Everything is super duper fresh! My boyfriend and I sat at the sushi bar with the conveyer belt and the chef was incredibly attentive to detail and helpful as to what is safe. You are also not only limited to sushi/sashimi! There are a lot of really fun rolls to try ☺☺☺ will definitely be going back.

Loved the sushi here so much!! The menu is marked with gluten free items (lots of sushi options) and they have gluten free soy sauce! Really yummy, we’ll definitely be coming back.
This sushi restaurant is amazing. The food is spectacular, the service is impeccable, and whatever your needs are you can be sure that John, the owner, will make sure that your needs are met. My daughter is gluten free and actually Celiac gluten free, and Sumo Sushi is the safest sushi restaurant for her. If you want a great dinner with the freshest and highest quality fish, eat here. You can eat in or take out - it is all great. Just tell them you want the food gluten free and even Celiac gluten free and they can and will do it.
Great place! I've eaten there multiple times and have never had a problem. Gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu, staff is knowledgeable, and gluten free soy sauce (tamari) is available.
I love this place, they're very good about gluten free including GF soy sauce and know how to make all the sushi GF.
My favorite gluten free sushi restaurant in the Bay Area. I eat here once a week, and have never experienced any symptoms of gluten contamination. Delicious food! Would highly recommend.
This was our go-to sushi with kids prior to my diagnosis. John and his staff were incredibly receptive when I asked about protocols and we got everything as requested including no soy sauce, even as a condiment! This was my first time eating out post diagnosis and it tasted the same ( but we never ordered anything fried, so I don’t know about that). Thank you for making this safely for me.
I have gone there multiple times when I crave sushi knowing that I won’t get glutened. There staff has a very strong understanding of what celiac or a gluten allergy are. And the gf items are labeled clearly on the menu.
