I went to Sushi Nabe recently based on the positive reviews here on FindMeGF. We went on a Saturday night and had a long wait, as they were very busy and short staffed. It was worth the wait! Our server was wonderful and suggested items that could be made safely for me. The menu itself doesn’t show what is gluten free. She said they make the sushi rice with gluten free vinegar. I asked about the chirashi bowl, and she double checked with the chef. They were able to make the chirashi bowl GF by substituting other fish for the eel, imitation crab meat, and egg custard, which all had gluten. The chirashi pieces were large, so she brought me a knife and a separate plate to cut them. They did have GF soy sauce, in a special little bottle from the back, which the server brought out for me. Next time I look forward to trying the sushi rolls that are GF. The miso soup and house salad with ginger dressing were both GF as well. I did not get sick when I ate here, and I do get sick when there has been cross contact with gluten at other restaurants, despite my best efforts to ask for allergy flags. It’s nice to have a safe place I can eat to satisfy my sushi craving!
