We ordered take out and alerted them of the gluten allergy. They assured us the meats and collard greens were gluten free but something clearly was not since I got sick.
Also, despite a request (and confirmation) that the farm salad be made gluten free (without farro), it came with farro in it. I did not touch it so this is not what caused my reaction.
We had a great experience here! Tipsy Flamingos drinks were delish. We shared a tray of pulled chicken and pork ribs with side scoops of potato salad and bbq baked beans. There isn’t a separate GF menu but the bartender checked with the kitchen that our choices were safe. Everything tasted so good and I didn’t have any reactions! We’ll be back!
I’ve been here twice now and food was great both times! They dont have a GF menu- but all their meats (except for the fried chicken) are rubbed and smoked in house and are all GF. They have BBQ sauce on the table which is homemade and also GF. For sides- I’ve tried the potato salad, corn, and ranch BBQ baked beans and all were great! Definitely a place I’ll continue to go to if I’m in the Fenway area !
Honestly I was disappointed eating here. It’s great that all the meat is GF but very little besides that is safe. Every single appetizer is fried in a shared fryer. Vegetable sides have breading on them and there are no GF buns for sandwiches. Desserts were all baked items. The bbq was good but overall I wish I went somewhere else
I can get past the questionable service I had because I know how busy restaurants get. The food was gluten free and safe, but the BBQ was disappointing to say the least. Being from the Carolinas I have high BBQ standards. The best BBQ I’ve found in Boston is hands down Harvard Gardens on Cambridge St. but Sweet cheeks was a safe GF place to eat and the food was average.
We stopped here for dinner after catching a Red Sox game. I had the ribs and pork belly. It comes with raw onions and pickles on the tray. Their meats are so delicious, tender and well seasoned! I can’t say enough good things about this place!
They don’t have a gluten free menu but the waitress was able to help us navigate what was gluten free. She confirmed that they have an allergy protocol and that they will use separate gloves, utensils, etc. All the sauces are gluten free too. The chopped brisket was amazing.
Had a wonderful experience here. The online menu shows what is and is not GF (pretty much everything is GF except fried chicken, cornbread, mac n cheese and broccoli casserole). Staff seemed very knowledgable and I did not get sick(I am very sensitive to cross contamination). I got the collard greens, pulled chicken and potato salad. The food is delicious and the cocktails are amazing!! Will definitely be going back.
Generally speaking, it’s celiac safe. Always make sure you tell your server and they will tell the kitchen and the kitchen will be accommodating. The only thing that’s super important about order is NEVER order the farm salad. It normally comes with farro (high gluten grain), and they will try to prepare it without it, but I attempted that as a side three years ago and was severely sick and just tried it again this eve (I’ve eaten there recently and have not had it, and have been 100% fine and safe, and I am super sensitive. I just connected the dots tonight that that piece was my issue years ago), and I am super sick now! Just remember: generally super safe, but never risk it on the farm salad.
I work nearby and once I discovered the gf brisket I was back once a week. I usually get take out. I got dinner there once and the waitress asked me “how allergic I am” because of cross contamination. As someone with celiac I get a bad feeling about eating somewhere after being asked that question.
Finally came here for the first time last night and had an amazing experience. Started off the evening with a Dollywood cocktail (titos, sparkling wine, limoncello and other deliciousness!) served in a mason jar. All of the bbq sauces are gluten free and most of the meats (except for the fried chicken). I got the fat cheeks tray with pulled chicken and chopped bbq brisket. For sides: cheesy grits and the farm salad (with no farro!) Staff was super knowledgeable and said the kitchen would change gloves and take precautions to prevent any cross-contamination. I was too full for dessert, but they had a GF butterscotch pudding and key lime pie jar. Will definitely be back!
Very good brisket and I love that sauces are gluten free. It was a bit oily but did not trigger a bad reaction.
What a great...no...awesome! They have the best options for gluten sensitive folks like myself. I recommend the pulled pork (no bun) and potato salad! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Going back this weekend!
The meats are all gluten free except for the fried chicken. They also have some (gluten free) hard ciders. The ribs are excellent.
