Got the Hot Honey Chicken bowl (WITHOUT crispy onions - they contain gluten) and had no issues. Use the app to see which items and ingredients have gluten. Most things can be made gluten free by removing a topping or two. Staff had just put on fresh gloves, so I’m not sure if they would change gloves on request. Freshly cleaned tongs were used to toss the dish prior to serving. Didn’t see anything concerning with the toppings area, but there’s always a possibility that something slips in to another container.
Got the shroomami bowl and didn’t get sick. When I said I couldn’t have gluten the staff person changed their gloves. Very few items in the store contain gluten and I didn’t see any problematic cross contamination between the trays with different toppings. Food was delicious.
Stopped in here while traveling. When I asked the person behind the counter to change their gloves, as it was an "allergy" order, he washed his hands thoroughly, changed his gloves and made sure no one else in the assembly line handled my order. I really appreciated his efforts, as there was a line to the door and everyone working there was in over-drive.
Amazing salads. I love how this place naturally is pretty much 97% GF. The quinoa/farro, and croutons are off limits, but I always substitute wild rice for the quinoa/farro and never want to have croutons in my SG salads. So, nbd. This is my go-to place for salads. I wouldn't go elsewhere for a salad unless I was under a time crunch and SG wasn't nearby. They also have an app in which you can build rewards, order ahead online, and pay.
Only downside--they don't accept cash and that isn't advertised well. I've seen a couple customers caught off guard by it without any other form of payment. Although not accepting cash isn't a problem for me, I can and have seen how it is a problem for many other people. If SG continues to do this, their no-cash policy should be blatantly obvious.
Staff not knowledgeable in my experience - I was fed wheatberries after asking many times if my salad was gluten free. After eating it I just had a feeling something was wrong - went back and asked and they realized their mistake. At first they laughed it off saying the employee who made my salad was new and he just didn't understand what gluten was. Disappointed because their concept is great.
Delicious and can make almost any salad completely GF. Most salads don't have gluten naturally though and they make all their dressings from scratch. Just make sure not to get the "grain mix" because it has farro in it.
