We eat here whenever we come to Thunder Bay. Their chicken and sauce is gluten free and they have a dedicated fryer for gf french fries. Staff seem knowledgeable about cross contact issues.
This Swiss Chalet has a separate fryer specifically for gluten free fry’s! You just have to ask and it takes a few minutes longer to heat the oil. The chicken is gluten free, as well as the chalet sauce and mashed potatoes. They seemed very knowledgeable!

I have never had an issue here. Fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer. They always replace roll with coleslaw free of charge. They are aware of dietary restrictions, and mark my food as gluten free.
We eat at this SC location regularly. I make sure I tell them each time I have Celiac disease so need a gluten-free meal. Instead of a bun, I get cole slaw. I always order the white meat quarter chicken with either baked, vegetables, or a salad, plus Chalet sauce. The servers are all great, and I've never had an issue here. Sadly they don't have a dedicated fryer, so i can't eat the fries.
Staff were knowledgeable and I was told they take extra precautions when preparing our meals. The GF meals are served with a flag to distinguish from gluten meals. They have a dedicated fryer. GF menu is available.
I noticed there were no gf options on the menu. I asked if they had a gf menu, waitress said no.
She said most people just order without bread/bun
I asked if the fries were cooked in a separate fryer, her response was”no, but it fries at such a high temperature that it will kill and issues of cross contamination and I think the chalet sauce is gluten free”
Eat there at your own risk
I did takeout. I asked for no bun, with mashed potatoes and it was delicious. I didn’t get sick and I do from the smallest amount of cross contamination.
