an update review.....the last review left me certain that this was a risk but we tried it. The chef came out and personally took my celiac daughters order on a bright pink slip, then our waiter came back for the rest of the family. The chef gave us about 15 options. On a side note they also unlocked the dino dig area for my five year old even though it was closed because we got there at 740 and they closed at 8. They went out of their way, provided excellent service, and my daughter did not get sick.
Chef came out and made suggestions. my husband ordered the exact same thing. waiters couldn't figure out which was GF or not. I was sick on way home. won't be going back. Not CD friendly.
Great kid friendly option. They were very busy yet went above and beyond. the food was delicious! I had their guac burger with GF bun which is the best I've ever had and my son had GF pasta which was terrific. highly recommend with kids.
My two celiac kids ordered gluten free pasta. When it came it had bread on it that did not look gluten free. When I asked they said sorry it is not gf bread!!!! Had I not asked we would have had a terrible cross contamination issue. They rushed to remake the pasta and the noodles came out hard. Beware and be careful.
Food was celiac safe with GF buns. No dedicated fryer. Waited 20 minutes to talk to a chef who acted very annoyed and like he was too busy for our questions. We had reservations for a second night which we canceled due to the way we were treated. Didn't get sick and atmosphere is really cool but do not recommend.
We went here because it was 100% rated in this app and we were traveling and wanted to play it safe... the first visit went really well and instilled a lot of confidence... so on our last day of the trip, I decided to play it safe again and eat hear so I would not be sick for my 11 hour car trip home... well, fortunately my meal was fine, but unfortunately, they served my daughter regularly pizza... I had noticed that it looked different and even had them double check before letting my. celiac daughter eat it... (I figured maybe they switched bread brands, but I was also concerned because to prevent my 1yo son from being covered in gluten, we ordered him gluten free mac and cheese... and my wife said it tasted too good to be gf...) Anyway, the waitress checked and said that it was fine, but as soon as my daughter took a bite, she ran out and said that now she is being told otherwise.... While the management handled it reasonably well, and even had paramedics called in (as it was ordered off the allergen menu), if they made this mistake for someone who hadn't eaten there before, there would be much worse consequences... because they wouldn't have known... they even said allergy when they placed her plate on the table... we're still waiting to see how much she actually ate, and whether it was enough to get her to vomit, or just enough to get her to be devil child for 11 hours in the car... don't want to get in the car until we know the extent...
WONDERFUL!! The buns are awesome, they have gluten free pasta too. The chef comes out and tells you EXACTLY what you can and cannot have. Plenty of options and OH EM GEE the food is delicious. Get the mashed potatoes, the chicken sandwich or the prehistoric pasta!
Just ate here and so far my favorite meal in Disney. Chef came out to go over what I could have and what my son could order from the kids menu. Delicious Mac n cheese for my son, cheese burger for my other peanut allergic son (could get GF buns) I had the meat trio-steak, scallops in a chimichurro sauce and shrimp and rice pilaf. Chef brought out the allergy meals as well. All portion sizes at the table were huge. We could have split the entrees.
As local Orlando residents, my 11-year old Celiac son and I have eaten here dozens of times without any contamination issues. (And I'm super sensitive!) Just tell your server you have "food allergies" at the table and they'll bring a chef out. They're all very knowledgable about Celiac and gluten and can help you find a meal you'll enjoy. I LOVE the GF Omnivore Salad and our son loves the ribs. Dryer is not dedicated - no fried foods here. Great Celiac family place to safely eat at Downtown Disney Springs!
Great staff and delicious food - especially if you love dinosaurs as much as me!!! The chef will come out and speak with you - no fried foods, no stuffed food which is already pre-made, they have GF hamburger buns and pasta. I had the burger with guacamole and bacon, so darn tasty!
We had a great experience at T-Rex! The Chef came to our table and helped us chose meals for our girls. He then went back to the kitchen, prepared them, and personally delivered them to our table. It's really loud in there, but worth it to keep our kiddos safe!
They don't have a gluten-free menu, but the chef will come over and walk you through your options on their menu. They have gluten-free pasta, and it was pretty good. Not overcooked like most places do. My only complaint was the chef ran me through the menu really fast and seemed in a hurry, which was rude.
Great GF experience for our family! Chef came out n explained the options for the kids and me. We went with the pasta dishes, super good especially the Alfredo that they made special for us so it would be safe! Highly recommended! Chef said it would take a little longer to make cause he had to use a separate kitchen!!!
Hectic restaurant great for capturing little kids' attention with all the dinosaurs. Told the waiter of my gluten allergy and he summoned the chef who personally took my order. I had the fish tacos (blackened) which he said did not have to be modified. Cool place and they take allergies seriously. Good food too. So far no reaction.
It's great for the whole family. Food was good and the chief will come out and offer a bunch of different things. They get the whole GF thing and will work to customize your experience. Can't beat the atmosphere that takes precedence over the food. Whole package is a 4 star.
Their options are okay, food is okay, but you really go here for the atmosphere, dont you? The dinosaurs growling at you, the giant jellyfish sparkling on the wall, and the meteor shower that happens every 20 or so minutes. Do it for the kids, they won't mind the kids menu anyway... the fish tacos I got were decent, but lacking in fish. The chef will come out and talk to you (as with all Disney restaurants) to review the menu and then bring the food to your table so you can be sure it's completely safe of all allergens.
