The staff was very helpful. They told me what I should avoid like the chips (shared fryer at that location) and the chicken (which is marinated in beer). I had a burrito bowl with steak and some corn tortillas on the side. They noted on the ticket that I had a gluten allergy to flag it to the kitchen for preparation.

I came here under the impression that they were gluten free. The staff didn't really know if their kitchen was safe or not, but they asked around and told me that they had gluten free options. I got a burrito bowl with no chips or anything suspicious. I got glutened pretty badly. I'm not sure what ingredient did it. The food tasted good, though!

They're very knowledgeable of the menu! Basically avoid the chips, that's the main thing.

Staff knew what was celiac safe. Don't eat the chips. Basically you're stuck with a burrito bowl to keep things simple. Could get a corn tortilla taco or something. However, we went there a second time this week and my husband got very sick. We didn't realize refried beans could contain bullion and therefore gluten. Staff must not have known either, that's the only thing that could have contaminated him. He got a bowl with rice, chicken (staff said chicken is safe), cheese, cilantro, and refried beans. Took my 5 star rating down to 4 because of the Bean issue. :/

Manager talked with me and told me whether or not items I wanted were within my allergy needs. Don't eat the chips due to shared fryer.

Staff is well informed on what is safe and what isn’t, and have a list of items taped to the register. Very accommodating and have many options that are GF. Highly recommend

This was an excellent restaurant! We asked a few questions and when the person we asked wasn’t sure, she immediately found plenty of knowledgeable people including the cooks of course. Chips are in a dedicated fryer so they are safe. They seemed to exercise caution. On top of that—it was just delicious!!

Definitely not gluten free friendly. I have tried eating there a few times and continue to get exposed. Never again.

Just called and they said their chips were NOT gluten free and the person on the phone was not even sure what I was initially talking about. Definitely not safe for celiacs.

Everything is gluten free except the chicken (and flour tortillas of course)!!! That includes the nachos, chips, tacos and they are all yummy! I have been to several locations around the state and they are usually very helpful. I love that you can get queso or guacamole as a side. They have several kinds of margaritas and they are very good. So glad that Taco Mama came to Mobile!

GF fresh chips and Queso!!! There are only a few things that aren’t GF (flour tortillas (but they have corn which are safe), chicken bc its beer braised, fried fish, and mac’n’cheese. 10/10 on food, service, and atmosphere! It’s more fast-casual. You don’t have a dedicated waitress, you order at a register then they bring it to you but there’s ton of staff walking around asking if you need anything. Just tell them you are Celiac or GF when you order - if you have celiac or an allergy and tell them they will take extra precautions and change gloves! I recommend shrimp tacos w lettuce, chipotle ranch, corn, avocado and chips and Queso 😋

Staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free options. You can get tacos in either soft corn tortillas or crispy. The beef, steak, and grilled chicken are all gluten free. The regular chicken is not because it’s marinated in beer. Chips are safe to eat as is the queso. I’ve eaten here many times and never had an issue. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I'm not celiac but I had no issues. Staff knowledgeable and helped me choose my meat (not all are GF). Got a taco platter with grilled chicken and siracha coleslaw. Super tasty! Spicy! Loved it!

The staff is knowledgeable about what ingredients are gf and which aren’t, and will let you know when you’re building your taco/burrito/bowl/etc. The menu has a build-your-own section that is totally customisable so you can avoid any gluten ingredients. Their chips are fried in a separate fryer and don’t have gluten.

I've been to this Taco Mama's, and it's okay. My brother works at one owned by the creator of the company. The shredded chicken and barbacoa are not gf. The corn tortillas are safe, however there is a high risk of cross contamination here. Be careful, and communicate well with whoever is taking your order!

The staff is very friendly and kind and the gf options were good, BUT the food tasted like I could have made it myself in my own kitchen, it wasn't anything special. Its still nice to have a place to eat out safely at though.

Restaurant offers broad variety of freshly prepared Mexican (TexMex) food with a knowledgeable staff who quickly identified the few non-GF items. My wife (gluten- and dairy-free) was able to have totally compliant nachos for first time in over a year. She was so impressed with the place that we will be going back soon. Other members of party had other menu items that were just as flavorful and well seasoned. An outstanding new restaurant in Huntsville!!
