I decided to go here for my birthday. We are new to the area and the reviews on this site made me confident I’d be safe eating here. When I got there, the waitress brought chips and salsa to the table (complimentary). I asked if the chips were fried in a communal fryer, she said yes, but that they always change the oil before making chips, which seemed odd to me because that would be very expensive. She said she’d check with the chef, so I felt confident she was being as honest as can be. After she stated the chef said the oil had just been changed, I ate the chips. Unfortunately, either the oil hadn’t been changed or they don’t even attempt to clean down the fryer, because I got sick. It wasn’t a full on “I got glutened sick,” but it was enough to ruin the rest of my evening.
Good news? The margaritas are amazing. That’s the end of the good news unfortunately. The food was sub standard and probably the worst commercially made “Tex mex” I’ve ever had. We won’t be going back.
They handle gluten free very well. Most of the items are gluten free, the menu is labeled with what items are not gluten free. They can make substitutions as well. My daughter wanted the kids cheese quesadilla but that is usually made with a flour tortilla. They said no problem, we can use corn tortillas. Food is delicious and service has been great.
I called ahead and both the hostess and my waitress were knowledgeable and let me know there’s a dedicated fryer. Menu is odd in that it labels the items that are NOT gf, but I think it’s because there are only a few that are not gf, and most are safe. Delicious meal and a nice outdoor patio
