Delicious green curry with chicken over rice. Spicy, but not unbearably so. The menu is very clearly labeled as to what is gluten free (if you stick to rice or noodles and don't substitute the veggies.
Good Thai food. My daughters enjoyed their pad see ew (flat noodles) and there were several GF options for noodles, curries, fried rice and other entrees. Mostly take out but there are a couple or tables and some counter seating. Convenient location near Grand Central and Bryant Park.
Feb 2022:
So far so good! Ordered here about five times now and not been sick. Only one hiccup; if you try to make a healthy choice and opt for veggies instead of rice in a dish, know that the fried tofu that comes with the veggies is fried in a shared fryer. Sometimes it comes with the tofu, sometimes it doesn't. Not a risk I like taking so I just stick with the rice.
Otherwise, the drunken noodles are the best that I can find in the city. Even though the Thai food out in Queens and Sea Bright, NJ are way more authentic, this curbs the craving. The Pad Thai is excellent and we also enjoy the Massaman Curry and Yellow Curry. As for appetizers, the chicken satay, ribs, and mushroom dumplings are my favorites. The sauce that comes with mushrooms looks scary, but I assure you that it's gluten free.
Update, Dec 2022:
I’ve stopped eating here because it’s a hit or miss. Most times I’m fine, but twice I’ve been sick after getting takeout so it’s no longer worth the risk for me.
Great Thai food that is committed to being gluten free - it even says it on the awning! Most of the menu is gluten free, although it is not a dedicated kitchen. The menu in person is more clear about gluten free options than the website is. I always double check that it will be gluten free, and they always say of course it is - so I am not sure about their cross contamination protocols. I have never been sick from eating here. Pad Thai, massaman curry, chicken satay, and Rama chicken peanut are my favorite.
